I love Guns of August and A Distant Mirror.

I've had a lot of trouble trying to get into the other stuff she has written. She can hold my interest but she can't spark it. I have to care about the topic going in.

This as opposed to some non-fiction writers who can "make the phone directory fascinating" (Lewis Thomas, E. B. White, etc).

Really? He literally just said “if we knew about the virus we could have stopped it” after saying a few days ago “I knew it was going to be a pandemic before anybody”. Which is it, a-hole?

Wait, the GOVERNMENT isn't supposed to step in, during times of crisis, and guide the states?

It's all up to the states? They're the ones supposed to acquire masks, ventilators, medical equipment, themselves?!?

What was Trump not prepared for? “The media.” So much for that pivot to even pretending to sound Presidential, as CNN tried so hard to make true for Trump yesterday.

It's odd to watch trump and wonder why so many people out there are simply incapable of seeing how truly incompetent he is. The inability of Americans to admit they are wrong is also killing their neighbors, every bit as much as the republican response to this pandemic. Live with that, America. When granny and your favorite old uncle die because of this, or when your previously healthy 20 year old son has lifelong lung and breathing issues because of this, be happy that for 3 years you could not admit you were wrong about this president. It's your fault too.

A friend just posted to Facebook that our new War Time President was still speaking to the media. TWENTY FIVE MINUTES after CNBC cut away from this presser. I flipped over to MSNBC just to listen, and holy sh**, he's ripping on the media again. Told two reporters to just flat out leave. He's getting argumentative and aggressive.

The average American barely remembers 9th grade bio, and if they do it's the human reproduction chapter where they giggled at all the diagrams.

But plenty of people in the Trump administration knew that there could be and that we were critically unprepared. Was any of this even presented to Trump or was it just some of the data he didn't want to be briefed on?

So how do our conservatives here feel about donnies performance? Impressed by leadership? Are you ok because blue states with people are hit harder at moment? Still coming up with a list of things Obama did worse ?
