REP JOAQUIN CASTRO (D-TX): I guess I would say this, that my impression is after all of this is said and done that some people end up in jail.

WOLF BLITZER: Really? And how high does that go and in your suspicion? That's all we can call it right now.

CASTRO: Well, that's yet to be determined.

BLITZER: But you think some people are going to wind up in jail, not just one individual, but people plural.

CASTRO: That's my impression.

BLITZER: You want to elaborate on that give us more? Because that is obviously a very intriguing statement.

CASTRO: I wish I could, but I can't at this time.

BLITZER: You're confident that some Trump associates will end up in jail.

CASTRO: If I were betting, yes.

BLITZER: Including some working in the new administration or people who worked or advised the president during the campaign or maybe during the transition?

CASTRO: As you can imagine, Wolf, I will have to comment on that later. But my impression is that people will probably be charged and probably go to jail.

BLITZER: Without sharing the evidence because I know it's classified but do you believe there is enough evidence already, evidence that you've seen that would justify someone going to jail or some people going to jail?

CASTRO: If the claims hold up, most likely.

I never fail to be amazed by the number of people who, when looking through the checklist of things Trump was against and would act on and noticing that they qualified for a few of them, were more than willing to believe Trump was joking on those items but was super-deadly-serious on all of the other items.

Of course he is. He's gutless. Has been ever since he because Nationally famous.

The day he hugged George W. Bush (after the way Rove and Co. smeared his family) proved he is nothing but a spineless coward of a politician.

Not where the article ends, but this resonates.

But the complete and inarguable disaster of the Bush administration—a failure of the conservative movement itself, one undeniable even to many consumers of the parallel conservative media—and his abrupt replacement by a black man, caused a national nervous breakdown among the people who’d been told, for many years, that conservatism could not fail, and that all Real Americans agreed with them.

Rather rapidly, two things happened: First, Republicans realized they’d radicalized their base to a point where nothing they did in power could satisfy their most fervent constituents. Then—in a much more consequential development—a large portion of the Republican Congressional caucus became people who themselves consume garbage conservative media, and nothing else.

That, broadly, explains the dysfunction of the Obama era, post-Tea Party freakout. Congressional Republicans went from people who were able to turn their bull****-hose on their constituents, in order to rile them up, to people who pointed it directly at themselves, mouths open.

Now, we have a president whose media diet defines his worldview, interests, and priorities. He is not one of the men, like most of those Tea Party members of Congress, whose existing worldview determined his media diet—who sealed himself off from disagreeable media sources. He is, in fact, something far more dangerous: a confused old man who believes what the TV tells him.

The quite I saw today on McCain sums him up:
“It’s a bad day for democracy,” McCain said before entering the Senate chamber, where he later voted with fellow Republicans to change the rules. “I think it’s a terrible mistake that we will regret for many, many years to come.”

Nothing new. Despite being outspoken against Trump, he's voted with the rest of the R's every step of the way. What a coward.

It's not new but I like to point out the hypocrisy. It's like saying "i hate that I can't lose weight" while guzzling a litre of cola

Yeah he is such a Maverick.

Just like Trump prefers his war heroes to not get shot down...I prefer my Mavericks to not be spineless jellyfish.

Re: POTUS 45.7 - Has the left reached the acceptance stage yet?

I was kinda hoping someone would make a farva joke after my litre of cola comment.

Twitter is having fun with all the times Trump said we shouldn't bomb Syria, and all the times he said Obama shouldn't be doing anything without approval from Congress.

Chalk up lie #48,688,302
