The House just voted to wipe away the FCC's landmark Internet privacy protections

Thanks Trump voters! And all you turds who voted independent because HER EMAILS!!!!!

From the article:

”[Consumer privacy] will be enhanced by removing the uncertainty and confusion these rules will create,” said Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), who chairs the House subcommittee that oversees the FCC."

Look I get you are a two bit hack with no brain who would sell your twat to the highest bidder...but dont just make crap up thinking you are as good at it as Trump. You dont enhance privacy by getting rid of privacy protections. There was no uncertainty, everyone knew what the laws protected.

It's only been a little over two months and it's worse than anyone could have ever predicted.

Thanks, America.

Karma is a dish best served cold.

The Trump administration announced this week that it will make good on its January threat to claw back funding from so-called sanctuary cities that limit information-sharing with federal immigration officials. Yet hundreds of legal experts say the move would itself be illegal—in part due to a court ruling Republicans cheered just a few years ago.

In 2012, the Supreme Court forced the Obama administration to make Medicaid expansion voluntary for states instead of mandatory, ruling that when the federal government “threatens to terminate other significant independent grants as a means of pressuring the States to accept” a federal policy, it is unconstitutionally coercive.

Conservative groups that celebrated this victory over "infringement on state sovereignty by the federal government" may now be dismayed to learn that it could throw a wrench into the Trump administration's current plan to punish sanctuary cities.

A noted legal scholar opined...

This is pretty much what I predicted, actually. The only surprise is the GOP hasn't introduced an Amendment to have black votes count 3/5ths.

McPaper joins the ranks of TEH FAKE MEDIA!!!11!1.

To expand his real estate developments over the years, Donald Trump, his company and partners repeatedly turned to wealthy Russians and oligarchs from former Soviet republics — several allegedly connected to organized crime, according to a USA TODAY review of court cases, government and legal documents and an interview with a former federal prosecutor.

The president and his companies have been linked to at least 10 wealthy former Soviet businessmen with alleged ties to criminal organizations or money laundering.

...

Trump told reporters in February: "I have no dealings with Russia. I have no deals that could happen in Russia, because we’ve stayed away. And I have no loans with Russia. I have no loans with Russia at all."

Yet in 2013, after Trump addressed potential investors in Moscow, he bragged to Real Estate Weekly about his access to Russia's rich and powerful. “I have a great relationship with many Russians, and almost all of the oligarchs were in the room,” Trump said, referring to Russians who made fortunes when former Soviet state enterprises were sold to private investors.

Five years earlier, Trump's son Donald Trump Jr. told Russian media while in Moscow that “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross section of a lot of our assets" in places like Dubai and Trump SoHo and elsewhere in New York.

Mookie's in line to attend a discussion on "fake news and alternative facts" in Boston. At paramount theatre tonight.

Guessing this will be a lot of rover types telling everyone how smart they are mixed with scooby's telling them he knew it was coming :D

Expecting to be entertained

I never saw the Bannon move coming.

I lied. I found a crowdfunding cause I might need to divert an entire mortgage payment towards.

Any guesses on how many Republican lawmakers are deeply interested in tips for a more humiliating S&M experience. Or better (worse?) yet, I'm guessing Paul Ryan's search history is chock full of queries for "Ayn Rand topless".

Do you think we might finally find out how many are closeted sausage lovers?

There was an article on Morning Edition this morning- pointing out how very rural areas of the country will be the most hurt by don's plans.

They are ok with it.

When it comes down to protecting the borders vs clean water- they would rather protect the borders.

So they will die 5 years earlier, but at least a threat that isn't actually a threat to them directly, will be "faced".

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you

Hard to fix the ideologically stupid. When you're out in the middle of nowhere and you live in the Rush/Faux News echo chamber this is what you end up with.

The great irony is the "administrative state" which Bannon has vowed to destroy was created to give the least powerful some leverage against the wealthy. Liberals have the education, income and skills -- we will be fine. When the conservatives destroy the EPA we'll move to nice places, when they destroy education we'll send our kids to private school, when they destroy the FDA and OSHA we'll do our own research on the products and employers which adhere to health and safety standards.

The people who voted for Trump are the people who need the administrative state. They voted to slice their own throats. Let it be. We should stick to protecting people who want to be protected. That is a big enough job by itself and it wastes resources to try to help the drowning man who is actively trying to drown you too.

Talk to MDs, this isn't ideologically induced. People obsess over the illnesses that have a 1% change of affecting them, but ignore their risks for heart issues and diabetes. People would rather be consumed with thoughts of the afflictions that aren't likely to affect them than they would the illnesses they should be confronting daily. My last PCP MD, just before he retired, actually spent some time talking to me about that during my physical when I was in the middle of shedding my excess flab.
