Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele defended the FBI’s search of former President Trump’s home in a Monday tweet, arguing it was not a random move.

“Trump failed to return classified docs requested by the National Archives,” Steele wrote in response to a tweet by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).

“A federal judge issued a search warrant for probable cause of a crime. This is not some rando move by the FBI so you shitforbrains Republicans calling for ‘defunding the FBI’ for once try to be less stupid,” Steele wrote.

I would have more sympathy for Steele if he didn't preside over the GOP which led directly to this moment in history.

Every Republican the last 40 years is to some degree complicit. This is what you happens when you hitch your wagon to the racist, moron horse of the conservative base.

edit: In other news Kash Patel is saying that the documents Trump had he "declassified" and that the White House counsel is to blame for why no one knows that. He says Trump planned to release all of it.

So, either Kash is lying (most likely) or he is excited over the idea that Trump was going to release information that was deemed harmful for us to know because it put our national security at risk. I hate stupid people being allowed to give their stupid opinions without smart people telling them how fucking stupid they are.

Oh and to put the final nail in the coffin of Sicatoka's fuckwit opinion...the National Archives said after they got the boxes in that CNBC story that more documents were missing and MAGA Haberman had previously reported after that that Trump was showing those documents to people at Mar-a-Lago and they were not secure in any way. Again, this was all after the article he posted from CNBC.

So...Trump stole the documents. The Archives asked for the 15 boxes back. He returned them. The Archives noticed sensitive stuff was still missing. They asked for him to return them. He refused. He kept them in non-secure locations and was showing them to people who had no right to see them. He kept refusing to turn them over and finally they forced the issue.

Now twist yourself in a pretzel trying to make this all ok you fascist dweeb.

But I am sure the National Archives is lying...they are notoriously political and biased. Like the FBI always been big fans of the Democrats!

Some pundits say it should've been a subpoena (Dershowitz) because he was away and couldn't destroy stuff. Whatever. This was expedient and someone wanted that. If there was a tactical error, it was not informing the White House ahead of time.

Mar-a-lago has a SCIF. He'd better have had everything stored in there. (Former Presidents have clearance so certain documents are allowed, but must be securely stored.)

What he had and should he have had it? We'll learn that over the next 48 hours.


And having not shown up for six years, the most likely place for my hypothetical manila envelope would be tucked away in Trump's safe.

uno likes to make fake law experts look like fools. Its why I defer to him always...plus it is fun to watch cause I can literally hear Sicatoka fuming! Although that might be the EMPs frying his brain!
