No, the insanely wealthy rep from the Thumb in MI who got his tax cut, voted with the GOP on essentially everything, then decided to be “principled” and go independent in the last two weeks of his term since he didn’t run in 2020.

This is the right place for the Impeach. Hopefully that's the last little dribble from the mushroom. From then on it's just his supporters in the Terrorism thread.
 
Yeah his brother is good on Twitter but that is about it. Joaquin takes no [bleeps] from anyone and I love it! He isn't ready yet...but I think if 2024 goes well (depending who runs and how the House is made up) you get him in a cabinet position and groom the heck out of him!

BTW CNN reports that the Trump Defense is expected to only need Friday and that sources say the team is disorganized and figures since it is a lock they don't have to do much except not lose. They are going to smear the Dems for 8 hours (tHey SaId fIGhT lIKe hEll ToO!!!) and then show Floyd riot videos.

While it means nothing for the "trial" I gotta say the Dems are playing this very smart. They aren't smearing anyone but Trump. They are showing respect for the cops, Pence and even the GOP in Congress. (despite the GOP being completely disrespectful) They aren't blaming Cruz or Hawley for spreading the Big Lie even though they could. Now normally I would say that is just the Dem House Managers being too nice and weak willed...but in this case I think I agree with some of the pundits who believe this strategy is the right one. The Dems need to keep the "Independent Middle" (in quotes for a reason Kep) on their side for the next two years. Spitting on the other side, even when justified, will turn more people off than bring them in. Trump is the issue at hand, keep it on him. If the other side wants to demonize all Democrats (and they will) let them. It hasn't proven successful for anyone but Trump.

I think burd means it is a good sign that Biden's thread is not on the main page because it shows he isn't doing anything stupid.

They've both slipped a bit. They lost some of the Golden Boy shine that used to surround them.

But they're both solid. We really need them to succeed in TX politics -- wrest the governorship and one of the Senate seats from the Nazis.

She's nuts. But, she fits the GOP perfectly. Lindsey went full bore whataboutism. He's going to be acquitted. Unfortunately I'll likely be dead by the time the Historians get around to putting Dump in his proper context.

The Dems have plenty of time to go after Cruz and Hawley and the rest of the seditionists after they vote to let Trump off.

This needs at least as many hearings as Benghazi did. They tried to overthrow the rightfully elected government of the United States. And people died.

This wasn't just some attack by foreigners on one of our embassies. This was an assault on our seat of government by American citizens
