There is a reason no one is making a big deal out of this...they are going to grift the RNC broke and aren't even hiding it so the Dems are laughing and the media is just waiting for the inevitable leaks. Lara said the RNC should pay for his legal fees and the RNC said she was called to service by Yahweh so yeah...keep him talking!

I love that CNBC had him on and let him peddle lies and misinformation (not to mention a shot at Carroll) because I much prefer my news stations to be out front with their BS biases. Most of CNBC would fellate Trump if given the chance. Watching Secretary Pete school them last week was delicious. It is going to be fun when they are named in the next lawsuit...

Why can't a "billionaire" come up with $90m on his own? Surely he ought to have enough liquidity.

Most billionaires don't have that much money in truly liquid form. Especially when you have a half-billion-dollar settlement coming down the pipes too. I'm sure even Elon would struggle to come up with 500M in cash in 30 days. It's A LOT of money.

So if he keeps talking, his bills are going to get up a lot. Meaning there will be little money to support any of the other candidates.

Let him talk!

Someone on TikTok crunched the numbers after the last few public notices for donations to Trump's two Super PACs. (So, end of January ish?)

They estimated that the funds from both those would make it just past Memorial Day, with the RNC's donation stretching them for another three weeks.

Dump could walk into the Fiserv Forum this July with three bankrupt funding sources and zero money for all downticket Republicans.

Something, something bootstraps...

So Fanni Willis- I'll let you all discuss that.

I'm going to post the media reaction to it, which really makes me mad. They interrupted morning programming to discuss it, right? And one channel talked for about 10 min just speculating on what happens next. This, after breaking in to programming as if this was some kind of ground breaking news.

To me, this shows how important it is to the "news" outlets that dumpy is included in the election, and if he wins, they will make a lot more money- and they all know it. This case is holding everyone else in the world to a MUCH higher integrity standard than the moron- add what he's been charged with AND has been linked to in terms of bad thing- and this is NOTHING compared to even the idea that he assaulted contestants on his show, let alone raping a person and trying to get away with that.

This fascination with holding every single person who talks about him to the highest of high standards to even discuss this moron screams to me the "howard stern" rule- make people mad so that they turn into the the "news". Even the "leftist" media does this.

It's disgusting. News isn't news, it's entertainment. The actual news was that she gets to stay on the case, which doesn't really need an interruption- just cover it at 6pm news. But the entertainment means breaking news and talking about speculation for 10-15 min, and in a way that you get both sides of the isle all riled up so that they HAVE to see more news.

We are in a sad world where entertainment runs our country.

What happened?

The GA judge ruled that either Fani Willis drop the prosecutor she'd had a relationship with or step aside herself. Seems like a reasonable "split the baby" decision that helps prevent the likelihood of a successful appeal.

It's all ridiculous, but such is life

I have no problem with that.

They definitely went out of their way to try to find a middle solution. And just like the original “split the baby” scenario, only the loser side is having a hissy fit.

Exactly. You don't need impropriety for there to be an issue. The mere semblance of impropriety is usually enough.

Actually the standard in GA to remove is much higher than that. It almost never happens which is why it didn't happen here.

Plus there is no semblance of impropriety here anyways. Her relationship had zero to do with anything.

Interesting. Wasn't aware that was the standard. I thought the judge even cited what I said as the standard. I'll stand corrected.

I disagree with the second half. Semblance isn't necessarily what you or I think is impropriety. Of course I don't think she did anything wrong, but if a reasonable person could think that, yeah, this is an easy call.

Again, why is it that we hold Democrats to such and incredibly high level but republicans don't care about themselves? Thomas should have taken himself off of many SCOTUS rulings thanks to Ginny being a big part of the grand lie. Or the incredible amount of stuff dumpy gets away with- even ones that have the Constitution telling all of us that it's wrong.

A possible relationships between two people vs. pretty obvious money coming form other countries enriching the President.

yea.

(my wife used to work for the government, and she always got really mad when appearances of conflict of interest that would get her fired are talked about and brushed off for republicans. She got a talk to because I owned stock in the company I worked for)
