Handy is exactly right, although he might have even overstated the chances of Biden going after them. It would be a huge blunder for Biden to do what you want.

Do you think Joe Biden wants his entire first term to be about Donald Trump? Can you imagine the circus involved with prosecuting Trump and his cabinet? Biden could solve global warming, personally develop a vaccine for Covid and see a 100% increase in the stock market, and no one would notice because of the circus you want to put on.

No chance they make that blunder. There will be idiots in Congress who want to do it, but Pelosi and the rest won't let it happen.

Also, you have to remember that Presidents are a very exclusive club, and for better or worse, Trump is in that club. Do you think Joe Biden wants to establish a precedent of the successor President going after his predecessor and his cabinet? Nope.

So the precedent you would like to establish is that it is totally ok for GOP Presidents and their cabinets to commit treason without consequence? Yeah that sounds way better than holding people accountable for their crimes. Party of law and order...

I agree the state charges are the way to go. Biden and company need to be hands off (unless its by the books, down to the letter documented perfectly, federal assistance only to the State AG) to prevent any blowback from the GOP, because they'll escalate the next chance they get in power.

For being a "silent majority," they sure are whiney when they're vocal.

Welp. It appears Trump has officially lost Ohio and their blue collar workers for p*ssing all over Goodyear this morning.

I'm all in favor of prosecuting people who commit crimes. I don't think I've ever stated anything differently.

What I posted is that, imho, there is no way a Biden administration gets itself bogged down in the circus that would be a Trump prosecution. Furthermore, he probably doesn't want to set that precedent.

My prediction is that, for reasons of political expediency, they will let New York go after Dump and his corporation while Biden's AG will be tasked with putting the screws to his most flagrantly criminal subordinates.

That works for me. I would not let it pass. It would be a huge mistake to let criminal behavior of this magnitude go unchecked.

COmpletely agree. There's no way this shit just slides. I don't see it. They made that mistake with Nixon and we've suffered ever since. Expose these criminals.

This is kinda historic... Dump did actually tweet something factual and relevant: You can get better tires for far less, ha ha....

If they don't round them up it will be another classic blunder by the Democratic Party. Trump needs to rot in prison for the rest of his life.

The whole idea of having Biden at the top of the ticket is to get things back to normal. It would appear people are sick of this crap. They want the old normal corrupt Washington back not the "whoever is in charge tries to annihilate the lesser party" Washington.

I am not saying they SHOULDNT go after Trump and his cronies...but as fade pointed out there are ways to do that without having it overshadow Biden. The Southern District is chomping at the bit and with Biden in charge the DOJ will actually do their job...let them handle it on behalf of the people of New York. Take the handcuffs off the FBI and they will do more damage to the Putinistas than Congress and the President could ever do. It is time to stop weaponizing the political sphere for a bit and let the actual investigators do their job.

Biden has to treat his term as a 1 shot...he is going to have 4 years if he wins to do whatever he can. Wasting it on trying to destroy the GOP (who...frankly deserve it) will do more damage than it solves. There are a million problems that need fixing and he needs to focus on those. If the Dems take the Senate real reform can happen for the first time in forever. The opportunity cant be wasted on trying to reprimand the losers no matter how badly they acted.

And yeah as I said yesterday...DeJoy is backing down because he doesnt want people people to see the crap he is hiding. Lest we forget he is invested in USPS competitors...so conflict of interest is all over the place here.

There is a solution that avoids the problems which you raise. Turn it all over to the Justice Department, the FBI, and whichever state DAs have cases. Have NO involvement by any politicals. The president and AG, Congress, governors and their AGs, and their immediate reports stay completely out of it. No public statements, no editorializing, nothing.

If the DOJ has a criminal case to bring in district court, or a prosecutor has a case to bring in state court, that's their business.

The first priority here is the Nazis and traitors cannot get away with what they did. Remember: the next time the attempt to destroy democracy may come from the Left. You're in this too -- it's our duty as citizens of a democracy to protect that democracy.

The second priority is for the Democrats to protect themselves politically. The best way to do that is keep their hands and mouths off of it.

One of the worst things the GOP does is filter every action of public trust through their political interest. The whole point is that good governance and public interest should take precedence. While they will never understand that, we must. The Republicans aren't going to do anything to protect your rights and liberties -- they are actively hostile to them unless you're a billionaire. And the Democrats won't unless we force them to. The bulwark of this nation is neither a party nor an institution, it's us. When a citizen becomes a tool for party interest he doesn't just betray democracy. He also cuts his own throat.

This works for me as well. Doing nothing or pardoning that Orange Fat Fuck does not work for me.

Problem is, half the country won't trust a DoJ populated by a Dem administration, or an FBI under a Dem admin's watch. The number of Q-Tards who believe in some sort of Deep State conspiracy nonsense is growing at a pretty alarming rate.
