Trump claims Obama destroyed the lobster industry and that he saved it.

Sad he's pandering for one possible electoral vote from Maine's second congressional district. 538's latest (limited) polling data for Maine showed Trump at less than 40%. If that's even close, I don't see how he wins Maine's more conservative second district (which took a huge swing from Obama +9 to Trump +10). First district should be a blow out no matter what (Obama +22 in 2012, Clinton +15 2016), but if he has a shot at the second district he's going to have to be closer to 50% in a statewide poll.

I'm glad you mentioned this because in every electoral college prediction I've seen so far Chump is always winning that district and the vote that goes with it. I've been up there a few times and while it isn't as liberal as the coastal district I don't recall seeing any Confederate flags flying around. Seems it should at least be a toss up at this point.

This actually matters because if Biden won MI, PA plus the Omaha seat and this one he gets to 270.

I think it will be close. There wasn’t much Covid in that district and there are a lot of people who absolutely love Trump for whatever reason. I think that a decent amount of people will vote for him because of social pressure.

Lobstermen literally always ***** about how bad things are.

Agree it will be close. I drove through some rural inland areas a few days ago and saw quite a few Trump lawn signs and flags. It still blows my mind that a district that easily went for Obama twice has a realistic chance of voting for Trump again despite what we've seen the last 4 years. Fool me once shame on you...

and yeah, Lobstermen are always bitching, even though the dollar value of their haul more than doubled during the Obama administration.

This is their one and only quality that should be emulated. The radical right took over the Republican party, and then the entire right electorate, and then America, by never, ever compromising. The instant anyone, ally or enemy, made a conciliatory step towards them they backed up another mile and called them traitors for not just surrendering to them.

Nazis are good at only one thing: they don't dawdle. They bluster and bluff and lie and instigate and sabotage and all the while they insist they are Just Patriotic.

The Left needs to learn to do this. We need to learn that violence in self defense is justified. We need to stop being Fair. Push for everything we can get, then push even harder for what we can't, and let the political arena decide what's fair.

Because the definition of What Is Right in a democracy is What You Can Get. Come down from the pulpit, swallow back those blue nose sermons of purity, get into the trenches, and start throwing elbows.
