If he gets 50 million votes in 2020 after receiving 63 million in 2016 (in a country that has added probably at least 5,000,000 people since then) that would be a huge victory for the good guys.

What I don't quite get is how otherwise smart (though usually ignorant) people can identify so closely with an obvious piece of garbage that they take his reelection as a personal challenge to themselves. If there is ANY bad news about ANYTHING, that same third of the country you mentioned shrugs and says, "I suppose they're trying to make Trump look bad", as if it's the reporting of the event that's a problem. They would have the same exact reaction to a meteor strike hitting Cleveland or if it was intentionally struck by ballistic missiles on Trump's own order. "They just want to make him look bad."
