It's interesting because apparently "attempted" has been removed from our criminal statutes. Based on the logic of the defense you can "attempt" to do anything you want and as long as you fail at it you are in the clear. Thus, if you take a gun shot at someone on fifth avenue in New York tonight and you miss? You're free and clear. If you have power over someone and you attempt to extort something from them, and you fail, for whatever reason, you are free and clear. If you attempt to rob a bank and fail (get caught in the act by the security at the bank for example) you are free and clear.

The mass erosion of the rule of law by this DOJ since Trump has taken over is staggering.

But, let's clarify the above. You are only free and clear of those "attempts" if you are the President of the United States and/or you are rich. If you are a poor person of color you are going to go to jail for a very very very long time.

With a straight shot sweep of the White House and Cap Hill we can have the Court back in time for the 2021-22 term. Then it's just a matter of getting cert on cases to overturn McCutcheon and Citizens United, and cases to make racial gerrrymandering illegal, and it's over -- the Nazis won't win another national election until they stop being racist which means Scooby will die a very happy and fulfilled man.

I'm assuming a Democratic president with a Democratic Senate will nominate and confirm liberal justices, yes. Liberal enough to stop voter suppression and corporate money in our elections. And that starts us on the return to democracy in the US.

listening to the hearings- the GOP talking head (haven't managed to catch his name) has a voice that is like fingernails on the chalkboard and he sounds like he belongs on the playground whining that Billy hit him.

New tack- tell everyone that Obama didn't give the kind of aid that they are getting them now. W***F does this have to do with anything.

And of course now we are attacking the whistleblower saying protecting the identity is a sad day. ? Is this not the law? Oh, wait. That is not important.

You're saying it's not necessary, and you're right. But Rs always use scare tactics as an offensive weapon. They are not standing pat, secure in their belief that removal will never happen. They want to inspire fear, outrage and indignation for purposes that extend beyond the impeachment process. It's the way they work. That's what had Pelosi concerned.

Yes. Gym Jordan today has nothing to do with impeachment. The R's already know the end result. Today's performance is all about the election and the election after that and the election after that.

I'm not saying anything is "not necessary." I'm saying the GOP won't be scared about impeachment because they can block removal and they have their voters sewed up tight in an isolation chamber so they will never receive any pressure except to MURDER TEH LIBS!!!111!1
