I don't think you were around for nate91b and (cannot remember his partner in crime's name) way back in the day.....
Really was a different era, wasn’t it

That it was. I know Hank got banned after he posted personal info about nate91, destroying nate91's claim that he served for the Armed Forces. That was a win-win there.

Oh my God I'm getting old, I didn't venture into the Cafe much then, but hoooooollllllyyyyyy sh******ttttt, it was vicious.

Similar to terrier#2 or something getting accused of stealing erin from another poster. I believe that went down in the Singles Thread. THAT was also VERY vicious.
Handy, I guess I'll lower myself to your level; you're a fvcking child. What in that post was wrong? That the 2020 elections are the most important in our lifetimes? That we should all be doing all we can to ensure a good outcome? That 20% of anything is not a "good number" of something? Even the fact you are referring to me as "chicken little" is pathetic. I've probably done more in my lifetime through my work to positively affect people than you ever will. Whether or not I am pessimistic about the future, at any level, is not the issue. My posts may make me sound hopeless, or angry or petty, but I am actually quite happy in real life, and enjoy myself most days. People like you who always resort to name calling on a message board are probably the ones in real life who hate the world. If my posts annoy you so much or make you feel like offing yourself, I have two suggestions. One, put me on ignore. Or two, go sit in your running car in the garage with the garage door closed.
I feel there are very few sites like this that are small, yet persistent enough to have such a rich history/legend of posters. I really like whenever people share stuff from the past.
Back in the early 2000s, this site was MUCH larger, as far as people posting. Game Threads (Scoring Updates) could go up to a Part 2 Thread in the same night (threads close after 1000 posts).
The game week threads were great--I miss them. Guys like gurth used their photoshop talents well.Back in the early 2000s, this site was MUCH larger, as far as people posting. Game Threads (Scoring Updates) could go up to a Part 2 Thread in the same night (threads close after 1000 posts).
Absolutely. I was a lurker long before I joined (still kind of am). I miss those days but still appreciate the community here today.
I remember seeing Dirty at a Badger game and not coming up with anything clever to say in the moment. Probably one of the few times I will have the chance to meet one of the 10,000+ posters here.

I don't even have a number of how many posters I've met over the years, either by chance or on purpose. Heck, I've even attended a few weddings of posters (current or now retired) over the years.
I know we were both at Melmac's wedding and NMUPiccDiva's. And tInvasion. And each of those events had a good number of USCHO posters (tInvasion obviously since it was organized here)
Man, those were a while ago.
You better be careful what you wish for. I did get the worst poster this board has ever seen banned, and not just from the board, but from the planet.
It was also very different because there were practically no live-streamed games. Those threads were sometimes the best/only way to get live score updates if you lived outside of the radio broadcast areas. Now that most of the leagues have streaming services, we all just kinda watch on our own, I think, and we all know the score.Back in the early 2000s, this site was MUCH larger, as far as people posting.
