Kennedy is on the Judiciary committee of the US Senate. Everyone in the GOP is afraid of becoming the next Eric Cantor. It's pretty sick.

I wonder about all the people that dumpy pretended to support, only to totally ignore, and who are not the morons think about this economy. Everyone says we are doing well, yet there are still people struggling like mad. Coal miners not getting checks, and coal companies declaring bankruptcy. And we are actively bailing out farmers- funny how that is ok, but we can't help the same people who are poor because they lost their jobs.

But to justify breaking the law because the theoretical economy is good- then why did they impeach Clinton? The economy was rocking and booming for all of the late 90's.

Hypocrites.

I think she’ll be fine. The woman she is likely running against is from out of state and the silent majority still like Collins.

Been watching Dimwit Donnie in Louisiana, haven't you?

Follow him pretty closely for a guy you don't support and didn't vote for.

The argument is hypocritical, but that doesn't mean they are, because they (the players, not the suckers) don't believe it either. They are liars using a strategy driven by green and self interest. We need to stop agonizing about the illogic of their bullshyt and just focus on outmaneuvering and outworking them. They are good at this.

Re: POTUS 45.60: He's Such A Delicate Boy and a Hysterical Man

For a guy who wants to convince you of his courage and virtue, Alan Pitts comes off like nothing more than a mealy-mouthed both sides are bad republican in this opinion piece. In it he never refers to the actual villians in the Ukraine scandal by name, nor does he refer to the members of the legislature that will be to blame if and when impeachment fails to have its intended and necessary goal if it reaches the senate.

Instead of blaming trump or any of his cronies by name for their illegal and unethical acts, he refers to "the president's allies." Instead of pointing out the problems in congress are all on the republican side of the aisle, he says "the same members of Congress who approved that funding (for military aid to Ukraine) say it’s OK for President Donald Trump to make that aid contingent on help for his campaign." No it isn't the same members who approved that funding in a bi-partisan way. It is republicans. Only republicans. Democrats and republicans approved the aid in bi-partisan fashion. But only republicans have abdicated their responsibilities in refusing to hold the White House accountable in ANY way. That is NOT a bi-partisan transgression.

Now Pitts wants support of yet another "non-partisan" advocacy group called the Defend Democracy Project, launched by veterans like him. If he hadn't spent the entire piece thumping his chest about how much he put himself in harms way defending me, or failing to show true courage and call out the actual villains in this whole sordid affair that trump's administration has been seen January of 2017, I might be inclined to pay more attention to it. The goals are admirable for sure. But if this guy wants to show some true courage, he'd have the guts to say publicly where the problem originates.

Of course the entire media is to blame for this, not just the voice of one lone veteran writing a political puff piece for one lone newspaper. This morning on NPR they had another piece in a week's worth of reporting commemorating the 40th anniversary of their morning talking head show. In it one of their most senior political reporters parroted the myth -- yet again -- of how the entirety of our political class has moved to the extreme poles on the political spectrum. This wasn't true the first time some talking head or some republican politician or other republican mouthpiece uttered it, and it continues to be a lie today.

While the right has steadily moved to extremes unseen in decades, the "left" has been standing still or in some cases moving rightward towards the center and beyond. If the left had moved as much as the "bothsiders" say, AOC, Bernie Sanders and Warren would constitute the center of the democratic party in 2019. It is utterly false that the body of the democratic party has moved to the left. For every individual like an AOC, there are dozens of democrats who have moved in the opposite direction. How many republicans have moved to the left in the last 20 years?

At some point the democrats will decide enough is enough, right? At some point they will fight back, right? Yeah, I thought so...

Call them on it. I had a polite exchange with a cousin of my mother on facebook who was pimping some Melania Trump meme. I commented that it was nice of her to stick with her twice divorced husband when he banged a porn actress while she was at home with his kid. She wrote back something about remembering Bill Clinton to which I replied that I did, and unless we want to be accused of bias we need to impeach Trump as well for the exact same behavior. Its only fair. Zing, and silence after that.

All old people who are still humping Trump need to be confronted, politely, and called to account. Whether they like it or not.

The silent majority, who gave Hillary 3 million more votes than they gave Dimwit Donnie.

Seems more like the whining minority.

They have been trained to think all economic growth is due to the Lord (the wealthy) and all economic correction is due to the Devil (gubmint). It's a very simple worldview and data is irrelevant to it, it can always be interpreted through the lens of the ideology.

Conservatives now have the same problem Marxists did in the 20th century. They have become trapped in an ideology which merely eats everything to feed itself like the Doomsday Machine in Star Trek. There is no way out of that. The adherents to the ideology literally have to die off, and that's what is happening with the trickle downers and supply siders.

So if anyone actually cares- here's the article that dumpy is violating-
Article I Section 9
8: No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

And emolument is defined as salary, fee, or profit, and I've also read definitions that also include "power" as part of an emolument.

So this whole thing with Ukraine is a moron trying to get some personal benefit from a foreign country. And lets not forget that he directly asked China for the same thing- which ALSO gives him more power and benefit.

Someone needs to explain to me how the russian party can sit back and pretend that he's not personally getting something out of this. They are actively handing our country over to Russia and China all over this world. We have fewer partners in the Pacific, we have abandoned the Middle East, we are letting vladdy get his way in eastern Europe directly, and all of Europe indirectly. And he is 100% countering our intel by saying that vladdy is ok, and it was from another country.

How is it that the party who had a president who jokingly outlawed the USSR is no so much in bed with them???? And lets not fool ourselves here, vladdy is actively trying to rebuild the USSR- for what reason, I have no idea- as he's directed most of their population into a horrible economy.

Regardless of what the specific charges are, it will be on the Emoluments clause.

I follow him pretty closely. And no, I don't support him, nor did I vote for him.

Re: POTUS 45.60: He's Such A Delicate Boy and a Hysterical Man

Sara Gideon, the Speaker of the Maine HOR is running against Collins. She raised $1 mil in her first week since announcing.

So she wasn't statewide but she is prominent? And a solid candidate?

Re: POTUS 45.60: He's Such A Delicate Boy and a Hysterical Man

I thought there was somebody running for the ME Dems this time who was widely respected and had won statewide before? Maybe I'm mixed up.

Sara Gideon is currently the likely dem nominee. She hasn't won a statewide office, but she is the speaker of the Maine house. By being "from out of state" Drew means she moved here in 2004.

Also former Google executive and Maine native Ross LaJeunesse just joined the race.

I think she’ll be fine. The woman she is likely running against is from out of state and the silent majority still like Collins.

Which candidate is from "out of state"? Sara Gideon is the Speaker of the House in the Maine legislature and Betsy Sweet has been advocating in that legislature for nearly 40 years.

Out of state? Is Scott Brown going to run against her in the primary?

Re: POTUS 45.60: He's Such A Delicate Boy and a Hysterical Man

If that's what Collins is hanging her hat on she's in more trouble than I thought. Good thing Mass doesn't have that "born and raised" requirement that apparently Maine does according to Drew or we'd have to give my favorite Senator Lizzy Warren the boot! Being born in Oooooooklahoma after all.

Considering Collins is going to raise 90-95% of her campaign cash out of state she doesn't have much room to complain about someone who moved here in 2004. It isn't like Sara pulled a Scott Brown or Hillary Clinton and moved here just to run for office. She moved to Freeport in 2004 and ran for elected office in 2012 and is now running for the US Senate in 2020. Quite the long con...

Re: POTUS 45.60: He's Such A Delicate Boy and a Hysterical Man

Is there anyone excited about Gideon? I don’t think there is anything bad about her, but there’s nothing very inspiring either.
