If a connection like this had been made to HRC, conservative columnists, House GOPers, Reaganistos, and talk show hosts would have died of the Vapors. Liberals just don't play outrage nearly as well.

Given the decades that the Soviet Union was the major boogy man, forcing us to spend trillions of dollars on defense and poking our nose in a lot of areas around the world- how did we get to a place where it's now a better plan to be best buds with Russia and step back from NATO????
What conservative memo suggested this was a good idea?
For decades, it was the most bi-partisan thing ever. Now, it appears that the "opposite-liberal" stance is so overwhelming that we are now in cahoots with Russia.

I have no problem with at least rethinking our approach to Russia, but doing so on the sly, and with the apparent effect of improving the President's financial position, is another matter. Mostly, though, it is just another illustration of the boldly dishonest manner in which the cons manipulate their base. And not even a false equivalency (which will most certainly be used to shrug this off) comes close.

This is the Liberty's students' chance to shine. From what I understand, even though the administration are jackboot Falwellian thugs and the curriculum is Country Christian Cuckoo, at least some of the students are intellectually honest and genuinely interested in rooting out The Truth. They may have been imprisoned in some eejit homeschool madrassa hellscape in their youth, but they are the real J.S. Mill-ian deal and do not suffer fools gladly.
If they hoisted Trump onto a spit and destroyed him, maybe the fundies would listen, or at least experience enough "Norman, coordinate!" cognitive dissonance to temporarily break their programming.

Meh... Not wanting that job has zero bearing on if anyone can or will do it well. I'd say Ike didn't really want SAC or to be President, but he was selected. He did ok.
Often those that really want the job are terrible for it. (Sometimes not. Patton did ok, too.)
I do imagine if you guys really put your minds to it, you could come up with a very recent example of someone who really wanted a job, got it, and are not good at it...

I would like the Democrats to say they will filibuster Gorsuch until Trump is no longer under investigation. If it is an illegitimate presidency he should not be permitted to name a SCOTUS.
Now, will that just be a fig leaf over a blatant partisan tactic? Yes.
Was the Republican refusal to hold a hearing on Garland exactly that? Yes.
The American people do not reward the party that doesn't play dirty, so, unfortunately, we need to play these games until the GOP pulls its head out and starts acting like adults again.
