POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

JUST IN: The White House has just announced that President Trump will not include climate change on the agenda at next year's Group of Seven (G-7) summit hosted by the United States at Trump's Doral, Florida golf resort.

Hopefully they’re pushed out from flooding or extreme weather

That's called Quid Pro Quo!

That makes sense. State employees aren't allowed to talk about climate change. It's the little-known third rule of Fight Club.

Mulvaney just admitted to quid pro quo, then said that's how they have always operated. Basically admitted to every wrong doing with a shrug and a 'go fu** yourself, that's how we roll,' answer.

Unbelievable.

Was just about to post that. Somewhere Nixon must be rolling over in his grave! If he'd only sent Halderman and Erlichman out to say "yeah, we paid off people to stay silent and tried to get the CIA to interfere with the FBI's investigation. No big deal. We do that all the time." :D

DefenseOne isn't a website that's usually good for a lot of laughs.

Defense One delivers news, breaking analysis, and ideas on the topics and trends that are defining the future of U.S. defense and national security. We give national security professionals, stakeholders and citizens what they need to know, from senior leaders in Washington to commanders abroad and next-generation thinkers far from the political scrum.

Today it is.

For the 1,954,000-member Snake Border Guard, the optimal force laydown should mix water moccasins (for maximum water effectiveness) and brightly colored coral snakes (for maximum visual deterrence). The present price per snake is approximately $350, generating a cost of $683,900,000. Unfortunately, snakes have a limited life span, meaning after the initial purchase, we will have to pay this same fee seven years from now.

So wait, I'm a little slow on this one. He's saying that Ukraine had something to do with Hillary's emails? What in the actual ****? Is this a thing? Is that how this is somehow connected to the arms money being withheld?

Because I really don't even understand this anymore, or how this is some sort of inculpating statement. I don't get how 2016 is related to him asking for dirt on Biden in the 2020 election.

Sorry for the stupid questions. I need a friggin map with the tortured logic these people use.

President Emoluments.

The President personally pushed for the G-7 summit next summer to be held at his Trump National Doral resort. And lo and behold, it will, White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney announced on Tuesday.

“We sat around one night, we were back in the dining room going over it with our advance team and we had the list and he goes, ‘what about Doral?’ And I was like, ‘that’s not the craziest idea that makes perfect sense,'” Mulvaney told reporters at the White House. “I’m familiar with it, we’re all familiar with it, so it’s not like he was like, ‘this is what Doral is’ having to explain it. He said, ‘what about Doral?’ and we said, ‘you know what? That’s not the craziest idea I’ve ever heard’ and we went to go look at it.”

Republicans won't/don't care.

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

From NY Times.

Breaking News: Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, said the U.S. froze aid partly to pressure Ukraine to investigate Democrats. He undercut President Donald J. Trump's denials of a quid pro quo.

It's not a crime if the President does it.

Two things came up in the now infamous phone call. 1) Investigate Biden and 2) find the alleged hidden server that contains the evidence that Ukraine, and not Russia, was trying to throw the election not for Trump, but for Hillary! Yes, this is the President of the United States holding up Congressionally approved aid in order to pursue a QAnon conspiracy theory.

Which, they've now just publically admitted to.

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

President Trump on Tuesday issued his second veto against legislation seeking to end his national emergency at the southwestern border, rejecting bipartisan objections to his efforts to obtain funds for a border wall.
His move, announced late Tuesday night, was expected and will return the resolution to Congress. It is unlikely to garner the two-thirds majority needed there to override the veto.

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

A monumental cease-fire deal reached. In exchange for not putting sanctions on Turkey, the US will help get all of the Kurds out of the land the Turks want. Man, that sure goes to show if you work hard you can pull a tough deal out of someone.
