Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

Trump approves of ethnic cleansing. Can one of our resident Conservative Christians please tell me where in the Good Book this chapter is a-ok with the Lord?

A monumental cease-fire deal reached. In exchange for not putting sanctions on Turkey, the US will help get all of the Kurds out of the land the Turks want. Man, that sure goes to show if you work hard you can pull a tough deal out of someone.
Especially when the tough deal is also called Total Capitulation.

Oh god. I'll bet Erdogan used that term and Dump doesn't understand because he's even dumber than his voters. This isn't Stupid Watergate anymore, it's Stupid Munich.

Lindsey Graham may even feel called upon to write a strongly worded letter.

Jesus Christ. Thanks, Republican Members and voters. Be proud of yourselves.

So, what did we get?

A story so simple even the voters will understand it.

I love the first comment:

Mulvaney said the holdup in military aid was partly tied to Ukraine committing to cooperate with the ongoing review of the Russia investigation being led by U.S. Attorney John Durham.

A DOJ official just told reporters here, "we have no idea what he's talking about."

Can't wait for "he misspoke."

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

Nope. It's full Nixon. If the President does it it's not against the law. They're going to fight with that as their deal all the way through.

So again, what's the goal here? 1) Trump leaves the white house in leg irons or 2) Trump fellow treasonous money laundering cult members save his sorry hide, then have to face the voters next year?

I'd love to see #1 happen, but if it doesn't before Jan of 2021 I'm not going to cry about it, provided there's a reckoning next Nov brought about by everyone who's not in the KKK. I relish the thought of Collins, McSally, Ernst, Tillis and Gardner having to take an impeachment vote less than a year before they face the electorate.

I'd be fine if he stays till he loses the election. Then they arrest him. Either after the inauguration, or just arrest him after the election and let Nancy be the President for 3 months cause Pence is going down with the ship.

I hear ya. I absolutely want him charged with criminal offenses after he leaves office provided he hasn't given himself a pardon. If he has let New York go after him on state charges for cheating on his taxes. Not the worst crime he's committed but it DID work on Al Capone! ;)

Go ahead and pardon yourself Mr. President. SDNY is still throwing your *** in jail.

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

So wait, I'm a little slow on this one. He's saying that Ukraine had something to do with Hillary's emails? What in the actual ****? Is this a thing? Is that how this is somehow connected to the arms money being withheld?

Because I really don't even understand this anymore, or how this is some sort of inculpating statement. I don't get how 2016 is related to him asking for dirt on Biden in the 2020 election.

Sorry for the stupid questions. I need a friggin map with the tortured logic these people use.

I thought I spelled this out earlier.

One of the prevailing GOP conspiracy theories(or maybe it's just Trumpworld, I dunno) is that it was not Russia who hacked the DNC and was conspiring with Trump to rig the election, but Ukraine working with Hillary to plant dirt on Trump(gave up Manafort's illegal dealings, etc) and rig the election. Which is why Trump went rambling off about some rich Ukrainian guy spiriting Hillary's server off to some mysterious location in Ukraine. Trump wanted their prez' help in getting to the bottom of all that.

Basically, this whole Ukraine thing spiraled out of Trump's desire to get Russia off the hook for election tampering, and pin it on someone else. Just like now he's trying to pin his Ukraine obsession off on Rick Perry. If that doesn't work, I'm sure Rudy is the next fall guy.

So, what did we get?

We get nothing.
Trump has a sweet hotel and other business interests in Turkey that he gets to keep pulling billions from. And Putin gets Syria.

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

Just one poll but somewhat interesting when you dive down into the #'s.

https://www.people-press.org/2019/1...mpeachment-proceedings-since-early-september/

I'd be surprised if the people against impeachment falls below 43%. That's about his approval rating and he retains the loyalty of the cult...

BUT, young Republicans being more in favor of impeachment (30%) vs older Republicans (9%) is fascinating. Maybe there's hope yet (although the 18-29 demographic of the GOP is probably made up of 5 people).
