Well if there is any truth to Roberts not wanting his SC to go down in history as one of the worst he might do his best to never have to hear the case. If they take up the case and find for the President any chance of looking impartial dies.

His legacy may be done before that. There are enough cases there right now to sink Roberts as an institutionalist.

His Court is farther to the right of the US population now than the Warren Court was farther to the left way back. Add that the right is invariably on the wrong side of history and things aren't going to go well for him in the juridical afterlife. Move over, Roger Taney.

This is a layup for Roberts if he chooses to take it. He can rule against the Prez to burnish his "above the fray" credentials on a relatively easy case, then go about ruling in favor of corporations every time they come before the court.

So, basically pull a Kennedy.

That is kind of what I am banking on.

I keep asking this...but if there is nothing to hide why not just turn them over? I get he wants to hide the fact that he is an awful business man but everyone already knows. The cat is out of the bag and in truth no one seems to really care. His brand will be fine. If things arent exactly as everyone assumes they are (he is in bed with Russian Oligarchs) then who cares? The tax returns should exonerate him then...and isnt that what all not guilty people want?

Today's testimony. Yovanovitch is ripping the Trump administrations state department a new *******.

Right. Before anybody says it, I'm not a fan of Roberts nor do I expect him to "save" us. However, if the decision doesn't revolve around corporations or religious rights he's mixed bag. Idiotic decisions on voting rights but correct ones on the ACA and the census. For someone allegedly worried about precedent, all of the decisions on Presidential power coming his way should be pretty easy.

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

How long till he starts Trump TV?

Which was the whole point of his running back in 2016. All his talk about how "Fox News doesn't do right for US anymore" is the dead giveaway.

Good luck running it from a cell, though.
