Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

I saw that on the Telly this morning. As for whether or not it's bad news or not depends on whether or not the House actually accomplishes it's oversight responsibility.

Well even if they stopped looking tomorrow he is getting Impeached. Any shot of that not happening died when he went on a warpath.

"Nixon was jobbed," -- Trump.

These guys are so frickin' guilty. How any of the Trumpers can see this reaction and still think he did nothing wrong, I can't understand. Even worse, they can see he did something wrong, and just don't care. Because....owning the libs.

And joe, I'm looking at you.

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

It was interesting to listen on MSNBC as they played a clip of Pompeo grilling Hillary Rodham Clinton during her 10 hours of testimony in front of Congress. A Republican House hearing as I remember it. Sure, Pompeo was in the House. As was Trey Gowdy (known as the greatest prosecutor known to man, and currently now a Fox News Contributor who spends his time now carrying water for President Trump). If I remember correctly the House accomplished nothing during that hearing (key accomplishment being, getting Clinton on a lie, or nailing her for some sort of wrongdoing).

Now fast forward to today. Where Newest Secretary of State Pompeo is blocking the testimony of one of his employees from testifying on the Ukraine Scandal. A Scandal where unlike Benghazi wrongdoings have been established and admitted to by the President himself. I think it would only be prudent for Pompeo to subject himself to the same scrutiny and questioning as Mrs. Clinton. 10 hours should do it. If I also remember correctly you didn't see Mrs. Clinton surrounded by attorney's and spouting bull**** about executive privilege every 5 minutes either.

Yes, Pompeo should testify. Then and only then would Pompeo be considered strong enough to, as President Trump would say it, carry Mrs. Clinton's jockstrap.

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

Scoobs I appreciate your bloodlust here and I'm all for the scenario you describe. However lets keep our eyes on the prize here.

1) House already has enough to impeach and conduct a trail with what Chump and crew have already admitted.

2) The public is in favor and Chump's approval rating is still in the toilet.

3) Given the expected 53 GOP votes against conviction in the Senate (maybe 52 if Murkowski ditches, I'll be very surprised if Mittens makes the leap) that will hasten the end of the careers of Gardner and Collins and put both McSally and Tillis (especially the appointed senator) in a tenuous position while not endangering any Dem running for re-election except for Doug Jones who was endangered long before impeachment.

For all of the blathering about Dems not moving fast enough, boldly enough, etc, they're in about as good a position as you could possibly expect. Chump will be impeached with public support. Yes, I'd like to see him on the dock in leg irons as well but first thing's first.

Ooh I bet the mayor is scared

Also, the Trump campaign is threatening to sue the Target Center because they want the costs for the rally up front.

Dump never pays his bills. I'm sure any court would recognize Dump is a very high risk of default and allow the mandate of prepayment just as with anybody else with poor credit.

Well there was just an argument that the rallies tend to never pay so it makes sense.

And Rover is right...eyes on the prize.

Did you see the judge’s response. Literally “Wow, ok...”

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

I did. They're like one more courtroom appearance from using the "Who are three people who have never been in my kitchen?" defense.

I used to think they were going to try to revive Lochner

Now I think they're going to try to revive Dred Scott.

My guess is next it will be the Scooby Doo defense...

Now...I never thought this would need to be said but, for the benefit of a certain poster who apparently thinks every poll that shows Dems ahead of Trump means this is Hillary 2.0:

THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE DEMS HAVE LOCKED IT UP OR THAT PEOPLE ARE GETTING TO FULL OF THEMSELVES! IT ALSO DOESNT MEAN BIDEN IS THE NEXT PRESIDENT!

With that out of the way...the trendline is nice. With Trumps approval rating below 42% right now gotta keep the pedal to the metal and keep the message clear and succint.

Does Q poll the target states, including WI, MICH, and PENN?

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

Note too that these polls are actually "backwards" in that they contact potential or likely voters and ask them who they are voting for. But the electorate isn't potential or likely voters; it's the people who actually show up on Election Day.

Polls of people who voted before tell us nothing about people who may vote for the first time (or the first time in a while) next time. So, the Biden numbers are the most accurate since that election will draw out a voter pool most like prior election's. Warren will expand the pool somewhat and Sanders would expand it most of all. This expansion is not necessarily beneficial for the Dem -- for example a candidate with very high negatives could motivate more new negative than positive votes. I tend to doubt it in practice, though. Elections are run on negative campaigning so the type of person who is magnetized by negatives is already going to the polls. Some pro-Hillary voters may have stayed home but every single anti-Hillary voter went to the polls.

My take is that Dump would lose to Biden by 9, Warren by 11, and Sanders by 13. This does not of course take into consideration Russian meddling, voter suppression, and outright electoral fraud like that in NC or other GOP strongholds.
