Let us all now take a fleeting moment to remember that for one hot minute this doofus was once a serious contender for the Republican nomination for POTUS. Especially after he started wearing those glasses.

Let us all now take a fleeting moment to remember that for one hot minute this doofus was once a serious contender for the Republican nomination for POTUS. Especially after he started wearing those glasses.

There are three reasons he didn't win the nomination.
1) He wasn't as likable as other candidates
2) He wasn't prepared for the debates
3) Um...there was a third item to list here but I forgot it.

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

Do you think he is resigning in the hopes that it will cut his department thus fulfilling his promise in the Primaries? ;)

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

Texts of emails among US diplomats to Ukraine appear pretty damming to Dimwit Donnie. Pressuring Ukraine to announce investigations into the DNC and Bidens as precondition for meeting with Trump, later adding the military aid to further increase the pressure.

Ukraine reluctant to announce investigations until date of Trump meeting locked down, US diplomat afraid that they will announce investigation, and still be denied aid, says "Putin would love that", threatens to quit if that happens.

One way to get the government out of our lives. Surely small gov't Rs will run for their pitchforks.

It's this thought that is really cementing the "circle theory" of the political spectrum for me.

2) He wasn't prepared for the debates
3) Um...there was a third item to list here but I forgot it.

4) He got a D in Meats class in college.

Boy, typing that out makes it sound like one helluva double entendre.

Putting aside the details of the Trump-Ukraine matter for a moment, where the hell is a strong, immediate thunderclap response from Pelosi, Schumer and other Democrat leaders to this latest false "I have an absolute right" claim? They need to respond with the words of the framers. the recent warning of FEC Chairwomen Weintraub regarding Illegal Contributions From Foreign Governments and an assertion of the Congress's Constitutional absolute duty of oversight over the executive branch. Failure to take this head on now only normalize and encourages more baseless claims of "absolute right." Which he'll certainly do anyway.

He's doing it in plain sight now. He's normalizing it. By the time he's done his 40% will be convinced he did nothing wrong.

Hard to care about his solid base. We've written them off a long time ago.

Re: POTUS 45.59: It Was a Great Phone Call

I was curious about this and CNN (which has been surprisingly good so far with this story) has the comparisons:

https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/04/poli...ed:+rss/cnn_allpolitics+(RSS:+CNN+-+Politics)

Chump already has more people favoring his impeachment than either Nixon or Clinton at this point (no #'s for Andy Johnson ;) ). Obviously we remember that the legislative coup against Clinton was never popular, but he's in even more danger than Nixon.

The point needs to be driven home for independents and undecideds. While the impeachment needs to proceed and acquittal in the Senate is a certainty, convincing those voters of Trump's corruption supercedes every other election issue.

Democrats aren't good at driving points home. Republicans do a much better job of that.

He did this in plain sight yesterday.
