A google search of news from September 2011, shows that it wasn't a great month. The stock market was plunging due to the European debt crisis. The "Arab Spring" was ramping up. A government shutdown was narrowly averted late in the month when a deal was struck with the Senate, and Obama had recently issued his plan to reduce the deficit, with half the money made up of increased taxes.

And he wore a tan suit.

It took all of that for his numbers to hit Trump levels...and they didnt stay very long. Unlike Trump who is celebrating a high water mark. Again context matters. (that is directed at the original post not you)

Yeah, I don't know. I think the article linked suggested he was around 42 now, and it seems to me he's been in the 30's, but I don't know if it's within the margin of error or not.

As I stated in my post since 2017 he had always been between 39-42%. There were some low outliers but his number now is the high end of his usual range.

Seems right to me. I don't think he's ever really lost or gained any support at all.
