You are right about the lying, and most people feel that way.

But that is in retrospect. A large number of people had no problem with R. Scaife and his R power brokers leading one investigation after another into one unfounded and ultimately disproven allegation after another over many years in an effort to catch Clinton at something or, at a minimum, discredit him. And Hillary also paid the price for that narrative. You give me that kind of money and that kind of time and I will catch you in a lie about something inconsequential to your profession too. Possibly a bl wjob in a closet or a dalliance with a Sioux fan. :)

They covered this up immediately. There was an immediate recognition this could be impeachable.

White House lawyers tried to scrub the phone call and transcripts from the record. They tried to classify it despite it not having classified info.

They covered it up.

Nixonian. It's sad it had to be at this level to matter, but this time it matters. The could write the articles today and vote on it next week. But, if they want all the drama I'm sure they'll drag it out over a few months and get all the testimony. A lot of people should be going to jail.
