POTUS 45.58: Admit it, those lights are making you look orange too.

Republican strategist Mike Murphy and former Republican Senator Jeff Flake claim 30-35 Republican senators would vote to remove trump if he was impeached by the House. Somehow if this IS true (I don't believe it is, the majority of these Senators are just as reprehensible as the voters who elected them) I hope there is an even hotter Hell waiting for them than the normal Hell reserved for the normal politician. But as I said, I don't believe it for a minute. If 2/3rds of the republicans in the Senate were open to removing him, it would certainly be safe enough for a number of them to admit this publicly.

I think the caveat on that is that 30-35 would vote to remove IF the vote was secret.

Yeah, I left that out accidentally and that is what prompted me to hate those sorts of cowardly ******** even more.

If it were a secret ballot, maybe.

The exception may come if Faux "News" turns on Sniffles. It is already starting. Does anyone doubt that the braindead 38% will turn on Fearless Leader if the people on the idiot box tell them to?

Flake is a total wimp and probably would be too scared to vote against Trump even if it was private.

Most won't. Remember "something is going on over at Fox" whenever they remotely criticize him? Droolius Caesar will just say that Faux sold out to the Deep State, and they will believe him.

Well he's not wrong (the Shah, Batista, Pino, Arturo Cruz, whoever our Salvadoran guy was), but that certainly doesn't make it right. Especially if you engage in the sort of selective American exceptionalism that most of us do. :p

We've messed with a TON of elections. The best elections! But agreed, doesn't make it right.

Oh Christ, now you're gonna get trix and rufie in here to accuse us both of being wimpy centrist warmongers.

Heck, sometimes we didn't even bother messing with the elections, we just helped lead the coup after a leftist gov't was elected (Pinochet in Chile is the prime example).

trump is the least transparent and most corrupt and criminal president, certainly in my lifetime, and likely the most corrupt and criminal we have ever had. Yet you can count on your hands the number of prominent elected republicans who even go so far as to say they support an INQUIRY into impeachment. Poll after poll show his support among republicans to be near unanimous. And the consistently most watched network for news repeatedly tells its viewers that every single other mainstream outlet that reports anything negative about him is peddling fake news, lies and "deep-state" conspiracies. If all of that doesn't make you some combination of sad, angry and ill, you are one of them, reprehensible and you are a threat to this country's existence.

The democrats better turn out their voters, and better make inroads into the independents. I don't want to give up on America just yet.
