Here we go with another fake news conference. The media is complicit. Which is really sad.

Bwahahahaha. Blaming Obama for vaping. Amazing. Demanding removal of flavored vapes. This is gonna hurt Trump's base. :D

*edit* Vaping is now more regulated than guns. :D

I read an article yesterday about how that is what is turning Texas towards Purple. Since the economy is doing well there lots of young people are moving there for business. Most are liberals. Very interesting how that is working out.

That, and they're no longer only moving to the People's Republic of Austin.

Did you know Melania has a son, a son that she cares very deeply for?

He then describes his son Barron in a very odd way.<br><br>"That's how the First Lady involved. So.... *whispers* Barron isn't his?

He has his father's brain.

Re: POTUS 45.57: We Should Have Voted for Zaphod Beeblebrox Instead.

By 2040, 30% of the US population will control 70% of the Senate.

That's when we start forcing some of the flyover states to merge. Idahwyomontana and the two Dakotas don't need ten Senators between them. Four would be ideal, but I'd settle for cutting it to six.

Re: POTUS 45.57: We Should Have Voted for Zaphod Beeblebrox Instead.

Yup. San Antonio and Houston, too. I think Dallas is still full on numbskull.

Well, Houston's cause of all them darkies that moved there after Katrina.

It would be simple to change the Constitutional requirements for state size. Fix the union at 50, but if you exceed a certain ceiling you have to split and if you fall below a floor you have to merge.

Or just do it over:

Or just get rid of the states, eliminate the Senate, and go to a parliamentary democracy.

How dare you! The US is a solemn bond of 50 states that came together to form it. Wyoming totally would have gone elsewhere and would have been allowed to had the rules been any different.

The Kingdom of Deseret would still be marrying off 3 or 4 teenage women to each <strike>pedo</strike> man.

Is it too late to let them leave? ;)

Re: POTUS 45.57: We Should Have Voted for Zaphod Beeblebrox Instead.

So I tried a thought experiment to create 50 more or less equal-ish states with the minimal amount of disturbance.

The rules:

1. Fewest total adjustments.
2. Adjustments can only be the merging of existing* states or the splitting of existing states. No "borrowing" or "shaving" is allowed.
3. * Existing will include all territories and possessions -- we're pulling everybody in at one go.

Current US state population stats:

56 entities (50 states, DC, 5 territories and possessions)

Average ratio of US population for 50 new states: 2%

Largest allowed under new system: 5%. Entities currently in excess: 4 (CA, TX, FL, NY)
Smallest to be allowed: 0.5%. Entities currently below: 16

CA splits into 3. Add 2 entities. (D+2) (R+2)

TX, FL, NY each split in half. Add 3 entities. (D+6)

Merge AS, MP (Marianas Islands), and GU with HI.

Merge VI with PR. (D+2)

Merge DC with MD.

Merge NH, VT and ME. (D-2) (R-2)

Merge MT and WY. (R-2)

Merge ND and SD. (R-2)

Merge DE with MD. (D-2)

Merge RI with CT. (D-2)

AK (.22) is under the floor but it's unique, leave it alone.

Total effect: (D+4) (R-4)

I'm going to need a visual.
