POTUS 45.57: We Should Have Voted for Zaphod Beeblebrox Instead.

So the fake non-removal pretty much nothingburger. Even more reason to not pursue it, if that's the case. Why p*zz off some voters?

Any voters pizz ed off cause Trump gets impeached are voting for Trump anyway. Why doesn't this fact penetrate your thick cranium?

Welcome to the swamp that is US Politics. :(

It's not about what's right or wrong. It's about keeping their jobs and getting votes. Doesn't matter what side you are on.

Edit: we just have to hope that the NEXT person in office of whatever is better than the last person. It'll prob still be bad, but it's not AS bad as before.

And there it is, the tried and true "both sides".

Never expect anything else out of the ol' Rube

Not sure which thread this a**hole belongs in, so I'll just keep it in the Trump family:

Jacob Wohl Is Charged With a Felony in California
Mr. Wohl, whose residence is listed as in Corona, appeared on Wednesday in Superior Court of California on a charge of selling an unregistered security in 2016, the complaint shows. A court spokeswoman said in an email on Thursday that he would be arraigned on Oct. 24.
The charges against Mr. Wohl and Mr. Johnson stem from June 2016, when investigators with the Riverside County district attorney’s office received a complaint from a man in Arizona who said he had invested $75,000 through their company, Wohl Capital Investment Group, according to the arrest warrants.

The man told investigators that the money had been lost. He later killed himself, the warrants said.

Re: POTUS 45.57: We Should Have Voted for Zaphod Beeblebrox Instead.

And what about the Dem voters who see them doing nothing, and so are disillusioned and not energized enough as a result to turn out and vote for a party that won't even make an effort to save our democracy? Probably just as many as those, as the folks you claim will turn against them for impeaching.

There's a word for these people, roofie. They're called "idiots".

https://www.cnn.com/2019/09/06/politics/democrats-impeachment-roadblocks-strategy/index.html

Simply put, its not a question of the politics of impeachment. Its gathering evidence. That is going to be a slog as Dems have to rely on federal courts, plus multiple appeals, to finally get the evidence that they need to impeach him. Watergate went faster for several reasons, one being an independent council (Cox) as well as a determined federal judge with jurisdiction over the case (Sirica). Finally, you had audio evidence which buried Nixon and proved to be as explosive and ****ing as anybody would have predicted. It would be the equivalent of Jeff Sessions testifying before Congress that there's a tape recording of Trump thanking Putin for fuking with the election and that the check was in the mail for doing so, and then a recording coming out with exactly that info on it.

This is going to take awhile. If it bleeds into 2020, or even after Chump's fate is decided in the 2020 elections so be it. He can always be prosecuted when out of office. But if you're one of these instant gratification loons who's going to stay home because they House didn't impeach Trump yesterday, you're an idiot and as much of the problem in this country as any of the knuckledraggers and KKK members who consider Chump to be a god.

Re: POTUS 45.57: We Should Have Voted for Zaphod Beeblebrox Instead.

Impeachment and conviction are political acts and tools. Due to the vagueness of "High crimes and misdemeanors" in the Constitution, law has a secondary role in it to politics. Gathering evidence doesn't matter. You can probably find an obstruction charge to throw at a politician and prove it in a court of law on a weekly basis. Don't matter. It's entirely about convincing 67 Senators to remove someone from office. It's why McConnell can say "Do whatever you want, we'll race through the trial in an afternoon and acquit him the next day" and Trump's approval rating will go from 42% to 43%. Nixon in 2019 would have held onto his seat.

I would counter that law and politics are intertwined. Nixon was dead to rights because he was caught on tape breaking the law. I agree that with the treasonous money laundering cult we have today its unclear as to whether he'd be removed. However its most likely in the upcoming election, must like in the 1974 elections, there would be h ell to pay from the voters.

Clinton had violated no laws as banging overweight interns behind your wife's back in not a crime or half of Congress would be in the clink. The perjury charge was so flimsy that 10 Goopers in the Senate voted against it and I'm not sure anybody can explain what the abuse of power as all about. Consequently Clinton is the only President in recent memory who had a good mid-term election in the 6th year of his Presidency (Obama, Bush II, and Reagan got creamed in their 2nd mid-terms).

There are political consequences to a flimsy effort. There's also the consideration of possible charges post Presidency for Chump, like Nixon who needed to be pardoned to avoid jail (obviously there was no consideration of Clinton being charged for anything given the absurdity of the legal case). Take your time and gather evidence.

Right but the Dems arent Impeaching because they think they can remove, they are doing it to show the people what Trump truly is. Trump is either getting voted out or termed out...he will never be removed. Impeachment is all a case for 2020.

Re: POTUS 45.57: We Should Have Voted for Zaphod Beeblebrox Instead.

These statements don't jive. You'll try to reconcile them but you won't convince me. :)

Sure they do. Impeachment 100% is a political move. FFS it is a political action. (see broncos post) It also is being done before a coming election so it is being done for political purposes. You have to be naive not see that. Rube wants him Impeached but thinks since he wont be removed so it will have political ramifications. (not some crackpot theory btw)

They do jive...you just refuse to see it because Rube said it.

Well she was an overweight intern. (Clinton didnt bang her when she was thin and super successful and awesome like she is now) And no offense but you arent exactly Mr. Feminist around here with your comments about female politicos and journalists ;)

What she was isnt what she is.

Incredible. You would think somebody with skin that thin would bleed out.

That is why you just let him rage tweet...he makes himself look dumber than the Left ever could.
