When I started with the Agricultural Research Service around 1985, we had well over 1,000 full time scientists. Due to rising payroll and other fixed costs and flat budgets, SYs were down to ~800 when I retired in 2010.

It didn't matter who was in power. We didn't get enough money to keep the same level of staffing.

BTW, the food inspectors are not in NIFA or ERS.

I stopped reading when somebody feverishly compared it to "Atlas Shrugged." And this bilge sounds more like the warmed over corpse of Heinlein than you, joe. (Zalezac's even into polyamory, to complete the comparison of grown men who weren't mature enough to handle adult relationships.)
