Catholics being right wing isn’t surprising but this was an interesting read. Always easier to blame the black man!

It isnt like all of the cities in Iowa are bastions of liberalism these days. It seems to have changed quite a bit since my grandparents lived there.

Ames, Iowa City, and Des Moines are liberal. Sioux City and Counciltucky were always red. The damage comes from the Quad Cities and Dubuque going from blue to red, and Cedar Rapids and Waterloo going more purple. All 4 are smaller cities that are manufacturing centric and most have seen better days.

The cognitive dissonance of people in these sorts of population centers is certainly interesting.

I'd post the "I called it," but a lot of us predicted how this exact land management plan was going to play out.

Run up the debt.
Sell off federal land, including mineral rights, to themselves/buddies for pennies on the dollar.
Profit.

Apparently a big buildup of Chinese forces on Hong Kong’s border. I know there is a lot going on here, but think this story has been under covered. For humanity in general I hope Hong Kong pulls through.
