Yeah, cause it's worse than that. You can't fix this. The only hope is that you can somehow come out of it and maybe get back to slow pragmatism. The sheer amount of people that support the treasonous cult is far far beyond any support Bill Clinton had in the late '90's.

We've known that since Dubya. The important thing is it's not 51%.
The first thing to do is to mobile the other 65% to vote them out everywhere we can. The odds are these people will never learn -- they are permanently crammed up inside their own as-sholes. But they are only one-third of the country. In a functioning democracy they would never have the presidency or legislative majorities.
Stop trying to fix stupid; work around it.

We all know that Mitch McConnell orchestrated this, not Obama. Obama tried to do the right thing again and involve the other party. It was his tragic flaw and tragic mistake and wasted 8 years of the White House. Bill Clinton wasted his on oral sex. We've essentially been completely under Republican rule since 1980.
Of course they love me for it. But, I can't change it. And the Democratic Party will not get enough of a mandate in 2020 to change it either. Mitch knows that. Republicans maximize power when they're in the minority and the majority. Democrats never maximize power. Ever.

If Amy Klobuchar couldn't prevent Kavanaugh from happening what exactly do you expect me to do? I communicate my views to my reps, and I vote. This is my power as a citizen. I mentioned Bill Maher before and you agreed with me. You know why Bill Maher is almost unwatchable now? It's not just that this isn't funny anymore. It's the concession of the Democrats. I'm sorry but anyone but Trump just gives us another neutered administration. All reporting indicates that the House rest on 43 seats that flipped to pragmatist centrists who don't really want to change anything. Sure, they'll vote on things like Rover wants them to vote on things. Just like Manchin. But it won't stem the tide. We're too far down the rabbit hole now. We need an FDR like correction or we're talking about a complete dismantling of the American Way of life as I once thought I knew it.

I'm sure you do all those things and I applaud you for it. I recommend one other thing you can do: stop being defeatist, at least publicly. There's a reason Hicks tells Hudson to shut up when he yells "Game over, man. Game over!" It's bad for morale. Don't whine, meat; it hurts the ballclub.
If we're all going to perish let's perish on our feet and not on our knees. But we're not going to perish. I am sure we're going to win. We've seen these f-cks before in history and we've beaten them, and it's the greatest thing a people can do. Mitch and Dump and their brownshirts are an asset to this country in one perverse sense: there's finally a battle worth fighting and an enemy worth defeating. We were getting soft and aimless. They are a reminder that civilization and freedom are not automatic; they have to be fought for.
So suck it up, buttercup.
