Still, I'm not sure how dumpy can keep what he is doing, nominally, and expect the majority of people to vote for him.

Well, he's got 90% of Republicans and as Family Guy once said, "undecided voters are the biggest idiots in the country." Now that I think about it, him going around yelling "Build the wall!" and "Lock her up!" during the campaign is just like Lois repeating "9/11" to every question.

Except the majority of the people didn't vote for him. And my guess is they won't again in 2020. He very possibly could win again though, due to either the electoral college, or massive vote count fraud or voter suppression. He won't win an honest election or one where it would truly be one person, one vote.

His policies have resulted in a huge turn over in the House. If those House districts don't vote for him, I can't see him getting the electoral college.

People HAVE noticed that the tax cut sucked. Many who may have given him a pass in heading to the voting booth last time are now angry.

Still, it's pretty sad to me that so many have excused this work with the former soviets, as we should not forget that people are actually going to prison, some of which admitted in a court of law that they broke the law they are going to serve time for. Last I checked, none of Secretary Clinton's staff have gone to jail, let alone even faced a single official charge.

Dude, they're going to skate because they are wealthy and connected. That has always been the case. It won't be because of any failures in Mueller's report.

Obviously, they were going to skate in terms of real life consequences. But I had naively assumed that they would at least face a political reckoning.

Political Reckoning only happens to Democrats post 1980. Nixon was the last Republican that will ever suffer politically for obstructing justice, or colluding, or running a business while being President, or anything else that has been done in plain sight. For example, Reagan skated on Iran/Contra. Cheney skated on Iraq and Valerie Plame. Now Trump has skated on a multitude of issues.

Expect the Hillary investigation in the Judiciary Committee of the Senate to go full throttle in the next couple of months.

If Mueller concludes there was no collusion, I will accept that and move on. trump's base is delighted, but they wouldn't have accepted the report if he'd found collusion anyway. But are there enough voters in PA, Mich., and WI (or Fla) who have witnessed his idiocy and ineptitude to flip? I'm beginning to think it's possible. Impeachment was never realistic, with the makeup of the Senate, but unelecting him is preferrable anyway, since it puts a dem in the WH, not Pence.

And, realistically, how much better is the economy today? The rich are certainly better off. But we see the middle and poor are not, even if they get a job, it's a pretty crappy one. We are in a good economy? Then why did my large F50 company just cut 4000 jobs? Many of them high skilled jobs? Why is GM closing plants?

If our economists continue to just spout numbers, and people are still suffering, we just face a different nationalist candidate- since this one has done little to help.

Agree with this. I want to see the full report, not Barr's summary, but I trust Mueller's conclusions. If he's determined the Russians were aiding the Chump campaign because they wanted a dupe in the WH, as opposed to the Chumps actively coordinating with the Russians themselves, so be it.

Beyond that though way too much whining out here. So Dems have to do the hard work of coalition building and voter turnout to get rid of Trump at the ballot box instead of Mueller finding a picture of Trump handing Putin green money bags with dollar signs printed on the front. I can live with that. Trump has two major problems in his re-election: 1) zero accomplishments that appeal beyond his hard core supporters who are 40-45% of the voters, and 2) his party getting wiped out in 3 states that he cannot afford to lose in his re-election. Voter suppression isn't going to work when Dems control all executive offices including Gov and Sec of State in MI, WI, and PA.

So stop crying and start talking about the issues that unite us (voter rights, expanded Medicare, higher taxes for the rich) instead of getting caught up on semantics within those issues.
