I'm not happy about it, and that is actually what I was afraid of when I posted that first post. That it would be misconstrued. Many people (including some minority friends of mine) thought racism was dying/dead. Nope. It's still there.

Please take the following with an honest and goodwill sentiment: right now, we are finding out who the racists/etc are, and they will be punished for their actions. I want no harm to ANYONE.

I didn't misconstrue your post at all, I was pointing out that it shouldn't take violence to ferret out these mouthbreathers, and that SCROTUS shouldn't be encouraging these people with his actions.

It shouldn't, I agree. If they are that committed to their beliefs, then shout them out. But they are too chickensh* for the most part. Obvious folks like Westboro and KKK excluded, of course. We KNOW where they stand.

Westboro trolls for attention and easy lawsuits. How much they actually believe their inflammatory signage is largely up for debate.

That is a point that has been for debate. I actually WANT to believe that, which in itself is scary enough, as for a comment on our society.

This was a win for liberals in the long run. We need power to accomplish anything. Ellison would have made people feel good but not been able to do much.

He was going to leave office to do the job so I guess I will call BS on that. Perez is a decent second pick but seems like the standard DNC "gotta make it look good pick". The DNC will have issues if they stay centrist and he just seems to centrist to me.

Exactly, the winds of change are blowing strongly to the left in the Democratic Party and they responded by trying to steer to the center.

Since Perez named Ellison as deputy chair, I don't think you have to worry about that.

The way to counter Trump's "fake news" is with "fake presidency." Just act as if he does not exist. Anybody with a sibling knows that's how you get to a nasty child.

I'm pretty sure Brent didn't vote for Trump. :p

Trump has been exactly what I thought he would be. Of course, that's a comment on my low opinion of him from the start.
