If you're saying you're glad and/or you approve that somebody is hurting somebody else, yes, that makes you a jerk too. Maybe even more of one since it's possible that the original jerk doesn't know he's causing harm but you do.

If you're saying he has a right to do something, that's an argument about what rights are, and that doesn't automatically make you a jerk. There are lots of jerky things that I believe you have a right to do. You have a right, for example, to think racist thoughts. I 100% support your right to think anything you want.

I believe most of the opposition to hate crimes comes from the extension of criminality to speech, and I think we should be really careful about doing that. Slander is criminalized speech. A threat is criminalized speech. Hate speech is related to but not exactly identical with those. So there's a place for it, but again, we need to be very careful or we all wind up in the Donald Trump Memorial Prison For People Who Said His Hair Is Ugly.

Children are extended special legal protection; black people are not.

Minor status is reflected in a lot of laws: drinking, age of consent, etc.

I can't think of a law that similarly distinguishes by race, and the suggestion of such laws rings a whole bunch of alarm bells hearkening to Bad Episodes of our history.

My opinion would change if he has threatened people. Point me to that and I'll recant.

My entire knowledge of Milo is the Maher interview and general knowledge that his shtick is to get censored so he can cash in as a victim on Fox.

Look up what his group did to Sarah Nyberg for trying to shutdown 8chan for hosting child porn. Look up what happened to Leslie Jones for trying to be in Ghostbusters. Look up what happened to just about any woman that tried to write about video games.

He's pure scum. He should not be given a forum by anyone in the media. He can feel free to spew his venom online or in hateful rags that can accommodate his trash.

The point is when you claim Dem behavior is out of touch with the people...youre wrong. As was the case in this election, Dems typically have the support of the majority.

No, I've just had a close relative (a cousin who was more like a sister) murdered by her abusive husband.

The best classes I took in college were taught by professors who thought completely differently than I. It's actually part of the reason I like coming to these political threads. :p
