Re: POTUS 45:47: I Never Said There Was No Collusion!

They still think they can find a way to make the Dems look bad here. What they dont realize is that the people who they are trying to influence all know how to read and watch video so for every speech they give there is another clip of Trump saying he wants to shut down the government and he takes full responsibility for it. The only people who buy their tripe are the people who follow them blindly.

They are dying on the mountain of a wall that no one wants and was supposed to be paid for by someone else. The Dems can literally say nothing and lose no ground here. Hell the longer this goes the better it is for them because Trump gets madder and tweets more nonsense. Any time someone might be starting to go another way and turn on the Dems the moron reminds them who they would be siding with then.

If they haven't already, Dems need to introduce re-opening the govt with a proposal that they'll build the wall....provided no US taxpayer dollars are involved since Mexico is paying for it! Problem solved, right?

Oh look the kids parents' PR firm is getting help from Infowars.

Coming from the #1 source for Pizzagate, Jade Helm, and Sandy Hook "crisis acting" conspiracies, and the violent fallout of promoting that garbage that Alex still hasn't properly apologized for inciting, I'm having an awfully hard time sparing any tears for this story that is likely 90% trumped-up bullsh*t.

A Washington Post article on the resignation of deputy Housing and Urban Development Secretary Pam Patenaude, a housing policy professional who’s been de facto running the department under the vague auspices of Ben Carson, also contains the stunning information that President Trump attempted to illegally cut off federal disaster assistance to the island of Puerto Rico.

We already knew that in October, Trump tweeted — inaccurately — that the Puerto Rican government was planning to use disaster relief money to pay off old debts.

But the new report says Trump went beyond bad tweets and tried to base policy on this misapprehension, urging his team to violate the law and redirect the disaster assistance money to Texas and Florida instead:

Trump told then-White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly and then-Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney that he did not want a single dollar going to Puerto Rico, because he thought the island was misusing the money and taking advantage of the government, according to a person with direct knowledge of the discussions who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive internal deliberations. Instead, he wanted more of the money to go to Texas and Florida, the person said.

“POTUS was not consolable about this,” the person said.

Patenaude told White House budget officials during an early December meeting in the Situation Room that the money had been appropriated by Congress and must be sent, according to two people with direct knowledge of the meeting. She assured them that HUD had proper oversight of the funds.

In a related story, that guy's now polling at 2% for re-election with a MOE of 2 points.

WASHINGTON — The Senate is poised as early as Tuesday to act on a Trump-backed measure to end the partial government shutdown, but a bill promoted as a compromise to pair the president’s wall with legal protections for some immigrants would also severely restrict migrants’ ability to claim asylum, drawing fierce opposition from immigrant rights groups.

Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky and the majority leader, is planning on Tuesday to put the measure on the Senate’s agenda, setting up a likely vote on Thursday, absent any agreement from Democrats to act on it sooner. But its prospects in the Senate are dim, and with the shutdown now in its fifth week, 800,000 federal workers are almost certain to miss their second paycheck on Friday.

It's interesting how requesting asylum is legal pretty much internationally and Trump and his bobos want to restrict it to the point where it doesn't exist. Has anyone mentioned that our economy is kind of based on "new people" being in the system? And we might go the way of some European countries if we don't get some people in here?

But, hey, they're brown, so **** em.

Imagine the number of red state "taxation is theft" types losing it over this one, having to pay for their spank bank of stepsister pr0n. Not to mention put their name on a record of people who paid the tax. :D

So he's going to allow voting on a bill dead on arrival, while not allowing a vote on a bill that passed near-unanimously a month ago?

Fuhrer only supports one of those bills, so yes. Turtle Boy can't think for himself.

Normally I would agree but in this case no. First of all the second the Dems give any ground, even in the abstract, they lose. The biggest knock on Dems is they worry too much about what people think which makes them look weak. Right now they dont look weak but if they float even a small concession, even just on paper, Trump will flip the narrative. Not to mention they will find some way to use funds by not calling it tax dollars or something...

Stay the course. This is a winner just like Health Care was in November. This was his signature issue, he promised and couldnt deliver it even with GOP in complete control. He went all in on the shutdown and has a losing hand in the game...bankrupt him and do it in humiliating fashion. Make sure he is smarting from the loss (and he is) so the next time he tries to negotiate in bad faith (like he did previously with DACA and is doing now) you can laugh and walk away and he has to capitulate.

To be fair those types are the ones still buying "Jugs" at the truck stop.

There was a time when McConnell would never spend political collateral on this. Hell he delayed votes on bills that were much closer than this one because he didnt want to take the loss. Now he is blowing all that in the name of a President that is trending in the 30s.

I'm surprised Mitch didn't tell Fuhrer that this one can't pass the House so what's the point? Hell, it probably doesn't get the 60 in the Senate.
