Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

The wall that Israel built is doing the job for them, so why do the Democrats use a wall built 16 centuries ago as the reason not to build one now? BTW, in fact the Great Wall as we know it was built in the 14th thru 17th century,

Morocco also has a wall, and it too is also doing the job for them
there are many walls throughout history, some did the job that was intended, some didn't, but the modern ones, the ones most like that which Trump proposes do indeed work

the answer is that like normal, the Democraps are using sound bites that sound good but have no basis in fact, because their constituates brains just cannot handle anything more than a 7 second sound bite

Are we trying to reverse this trend (link) with THE WALL?

Oh yeah, forgot about that guy. There you go Kep, another dyed-in-the-wool Trumpster right up there with Flaggy.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

Same conclusion here. Wormer dropped the big one. Marshall develops the thought here.

The best part of this was how it was discovered. Manafort's lawyers filed redactions which were still searchable. Only the best people.

Big nothingburger. Drew told me so.

On the Border, Little Enthusiasm for a Wall: ‘We Have Other Problems That Need Fixing’

He said border residents were suffering through a “humanitarian crisis,” and he described a landscape scarred by violence and prowled by “vicious coyotes and ruthless gangs.” But that is not how Ms. Zizumbo sees it. People in Columbus, she said, opposed the idea of a wall by about a “90-to-10 margin.”

“Enough about the wall already,” she said. “We have other problems here that need fixing.”

In anticipation of the president’s speech, The New York Times sent correspondents to the Mexico side of the border and to the four states on the United States side — California, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas — and found few who shared the president’s sense of alarm.

Many said there was indeed a humanitarian crisis unfolding, but they blamed the Trump administration for worsening it with a series of policies aimed at deterring Central American migrants from making the journey. Those policies, many of which have been blocked by legal challenges, have failed to stop the flood of migrants. But they have succeeded in escalating tensions, overwhelming volunteer shelters and putting those seeking asylum from violence at renewed risk of health threats and other problems once they arrive in the United States.

“There is no border problem, except for ones we are causing,” said the rancher, who said he had not had any problems with illegal border crossers on his property and who asked not to be identified out of fear of retribution from strident supporters of Mr. Trump’s planned border wall. “There’s no need for a bigger wall. There is not a border crisis down here.”

Some of the worsening problems, some city officials have said, are a result of the federal government’s own management of the border. In El Paso and other cities in California and Arizona, the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has in recent weeks released thousands of immigrants unannounced onto city streets, forcing city officials and migrant shelter operators to scramble to accommodate them.

“They were just being dropped off with nothing — no money, nothing,” said Kevin Malone, one of the founders of the San Diego Rapid Response Network, which has been dealing more frequently with unannounced releases. “They’re setting people up for failure every step along the way. This is a contrived emergency. They don’t have to be doing it like this.”

A growing number of Americans blame Trump for shutdown: Reuters-Ipsos poll

A 24-page report prepared by the DEA in May found that drugs coming from Mexico do often enter through the southwestern border, but they do so concealed in vehicles, like tractor-trailers. Moreover, drugs coming from Colombia are more often transported by plane and boat, the reports notes.

Transnational criminal organizations “generally route larger drug shipments destined for the Northeast through the Bahamas and/or South Florida by using a variety of maritime conveyance methods, to include speedboats, fishing vessels, sailboats, yachts, and containerized sea cargo,” the reports reads. “In some cases, Dominican Republic-based traffickers will also transport cocaine into Haiti for subsequent shipment to the United States via the Bahamas and/or South Florida corridor using maritime and air transport.”

The DEA report does not address the wall but details how drugs enter the country, and many of the examples illustrate that it is not through land routes. “According to DEA reporting, the majority of the heroin available in New Jersey originates in Colombia and is primarily smuggled into the United States by Colombian and Dominican groups via human couriers on commercial flights to the Newark International Airport,” the document states.

The report, which focuses heavily on the growth of Dominican trafficking groups, outlines a variety of ways drugs enter the United States, including via couriers carrying cocaine-filled suitcases on commercial flights — sometimes with the help of airline employees — or via mail.

The drugs are often transported by boat from the Bahamas or Venezuela up through Miami. The main hubs for transport include the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

“Due to Puerto Rico’s proximity and status as a U.S. territory, Dominican Republic-based traffickers commonly direct drug shipments to Puerto Rico, where they are partitioned into small units and sent directly to the Northeast, mainly through the U.S. postal system, parcel mail service, and couriers on commercial flights,” the report states.

At the end of the intelligence report, the DEA makes a recommendation, but it doesn’t involve building a wall.

Never mind those that enter via man-made tunnels that even a wall of dozens feet deep would not restrict and he either has or wants to reduce funding to the Coast Guard.

Fox News’ Chris Wallace Shreds Sarah Huckabee Sanders Over Border Terror Claims
“I studied up on this,” Wallace said as he disputed the White House press secretary’s claims about terrorists coming into the U.S.

“Let’s talk about the wall,” Wallace said. “The president talks about terrorists potentially coming across the border.”

He then showed a clip of Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen stating Friday that “over 3,000 special interest aliens” trying to enter the U.S. from the southern border had been stopped by Border Patrol agents.

“But special interest aliens are just people who have come from countries that have ever produced a terrorist, they’re not terrorists themselves,” Wallace said. He also cited State Department reports that found “no credible evidence of any terrorist coming across the border from Mexico.”

Sanders responded, “We know that roughly nearly 4,000 known or suspected terrorists come into our country illegally, and we know that our most vulnerable point of entry is at our southern border.”

Wallace, ready to pounce, interrupted Sanders with a blistering fact-check.

“Wait wait, ’cause I know the statistic,” he said. “I didn’t know if you were going to use it, but I studied up on this. Do you know where those 4,000 people come or where they’re captured? Airports.”

“Not always but certainly a large number,” Sanders said as Wallace continued to hammer his point.

“The state department says there hasn’t been any terrorists found coming across the southern border from Mexico,” he added.

Sanders, seemingly ignoring the facts laid out before her, said terrorists enter the U.S. “by air, it’s by land, it’s by sea” and that the southern border is the country’s “most vulnerable point of entry.”

“But they’re not coming across the southern border, Sarah,” Wallace persisted. “They’re coming and they’re being stopped at airports.”

Studies show undocumented immigrants commit less crime than native-born citizens. In fact, states with more undocumented immigrants have lower crime rates than states with fewer of them.

She tried to claim we're now doing less to protect the borders than before which is also not true and not supported by any one single piece of evidence. She's either just flat out ignorant or dishonest like so many #FAP members here.

Thanks for posting all the facts about the border/wall. Unfortunately dumb dumb doesn't care about facts and is going to continue being a disingenuous twat.

For the 1000th time, if everyone would put the obvious troll on ignore, that feature would work just fine.

The mods could just put him on ignore too, that'd be way more effective than hoping 100+ different individuals do it.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

What if they said "We'll give you the $5.7 billion for border security, but not for a wall, which will not work. Money to go towards hiring more people..." etc.

And we want DACA and more humane treatment of Amnesty Immigration. I'd make that deal even if it was a Wall.

Well the problem is he's fixated on this wall because his racist supporters it that more than anything. Personally I'd rather the dems not compromise and give him 5 billion $ that goes to ICE just so they can terrorize more people either, at that point I'd rather it just go to a useless wall.

He got offered $25 billion in 2017 for whatever in exchange for DACA and Stephen Miller told him to say no. There's no way to negotiate with him.

That's why I'd go for DACA again. That's 20 million saved and you still got it. And it puts the Dems on even higher ground cause NOW he's the one turning down the deal.

This would be fine. But it will never happen because Trump has made his bed with the anti-Mexican invasion fortifications, errrr...sorry, I mean Trumplin Wall. If he doesn't get it, his goose is cooked.

Well, I want them to offer him his wall for something good in return. That's how you negotiate. It's time the Dems actually got something for a change. Even when Obama was President we didn't get **** cause Turtle Boy blocked it all. It's a win win if Trump makes the deal and throws the Freedom Dumbasses in the House and Turtle Boy overboard.

And if he still says no. **** it.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

The problem is Dump can't be trusted to come through on any part of what he negotiates because in addition to his many other charming attributes he's a welcher.

Right. he'll say, ok, 5.7 billion and you got DACA, and then Hannity will whine about it that night, and the next day, he pulls the deal.

They had a deal to keep government open without the wall funding, and then Ann Coulter and Rush said mean things about him, and the next day it was 5.7 billion for a wall, or shutdown.
