No they don't. There's a radical minority who agree. That's it.

Jonathan Turley, Constitutional Law Professor at George Washington University spoke with Brian Kilmeade about President Trump preparing to use an Executive Order that would end "Birthright" citizenship. Professor Turley says the President does have a case because the 14th Amendment's ambiguous wording "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof". Turley explains that many of the drafters believe the 14th Amendment says you have a birthright citizenship if you're either a citizen or a legal resident but not if you are undocumented or a diplomat or a tourist.

Citing someone appearing on Fox News doesn't contradict my assertion that only a radical minority ascribe to that belief.

And anyone who says the drafters of the 14th Amendment didn't intend it to cover illegal immigration is full of bullshiat. There was no such thing as illegal immigration at that point. You stepped off the boat, you are good to go.

I was just going to reply with:

97% of scientists think anthropogenic global warming exists

I'm sure you could still find a skeptic and a major university

Yeah, I'm with ya. I just find it fascinating that anyone in this country believes it.

There are people who agree with Maryland that they should keep their psychopathic coach...there is always a group that believes something.

Not what I'm getting at. This guy is an actual Constitutional Law Professor. That's the combination that fascinates me.

Part Two. And Yes Harry Reid introduced legislation to take away birthright citizenship in 1993. And apparently Trump Sword Swallower Lindsey Graham will do the same in the near future.

Nice to see you all still distracted.

The swamp was supposed to be emptied, not filled. We are supposed to have lower deficits, not bigger. Mexico is supposed to pay for the wall, not us. And while "birther" is now an issue, we are not supposed to be selling citizenship.

For me the deficits are much more pressing than the corruption. The deficits at some point will impact all of us while the corruption won’t.

They already know how they're going to fix the deficits and the debt. Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

In the Post Facts World, ISIS did do it. What's the percentage of voters that do not operate in a factual reality? Hopefully it is low enough that Democrats can stop wasting their time on them too.

Given the corruption wastes government funds and continues to push for the ultra rich to pay even less in taxes, they are one in the same.

You keep saying that, and vote against that statement. R's have NEVER tried to balance the budget in the last 40 years. All they do is lower taxes and increase spending.

And, as has been pointed out, much of the corruption can be directly traced to the deficit.

Funny that the "law and order" party ignore the financial laws and order rules as much as they do. Really sad.

This current BS is to stoke fear, and that is all it is doing. Given that virtually everyone here can trace their citizenship to a single birth of a non-citizen- it's pathetic that we worry so much about this. Racist that we put so much fear of our neighbors to the south.

Re: POTUS 45.43: The Caravan is Coming. Fear the Caravan.

In terms of deficit, I don't know how anyone could look at the numbers under and since Reagan and think the GOP is anything other than a deficit increasing machine. The last tax bill is just more of the same.

It takes that pinnacle of global fact finding publishing to call out what's been going on: the Mankato Free Press.

For 60 years, every Republican president has increased the debt/GDP ratio, and every Democrat has decreased it. Reagan tripled the national debt from $95 billion to $290 billion. When Bill Clinton left office the CBO projected a 10-year surplus of $5.6 trillion. Bush’s wars and tax cuts destroyed that projection and resulted in $11 trillion more debt and a $1.4 trillion yearly deficit. Obama cut the deficit by two-thirds. Now Republicans are running up the debt/deficit again and lying about it. House Republicans passed a second round of tax cuts last month that would add $3.8 trillion to the federal debt over a decade, according to the Tax Policy Center. In addition, Mnuchin is considering a plan to cut $100 billion in taxes by indexing capital gains to inflation, a move benefiting largely the rich. CNBC calls it a stealth tax cut.
