How'd they get hired or how are they still employed? If B43 holdovers did that to BHO44, the world would be in flames.

@mikiebarb: WOW: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/05/...l?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage

The Times today is taking the rare step of publishing an anonymous Op-Ed essay. We have done so at the request of the author, a senior official in the Trump administration whose identity is known to us and whose job would be jeopardized by its disclosure.

These people aren't holdovers, they were appointed by Red Don (love that nickname).

Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

Coming out of nowhere to become President meant he didn't have loyal politicos or administrators to bring with him to the White House like previous presidents. Probably why it leaks like a sieve.

Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

Couldn’t agree more. Maybe a right wing bank and insurance company as well.

Are you sure? (That's rhetorical based on anonymity of the author.) There's quite a list.

From reading the article...this doesnt sound like a reluctant holdover Lib...this sounds like a GOPer.

"To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous."

Yeah, either the anonymous source was throwing out a series of GOP-held beliefs in his statement as red herrings to genius-level POTUS, or the person is more of an old school GOPer rather than the more recent Trumpster Fire supporters.

Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

Whoever they are, they suck at life.

Refusing to invoke the 25th amendment to remove an addled man because it would cause a "constitutional crisis" is full of ****

The crisis is because you're not following the Constitution and just trying to ride the lightning as long as possible.

Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

The author claims that "free markets, free people, and free minds" are ideals long espoused by conservatives. That's so cute that he thinks that.

Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

Serious question- Someone mentioned libel a few posts ago. What exactly is needed to constitute libel? Isn't the character assassination by Twitter making demonstrably false accusations, false claims about actions, attributing things to the wrong person in a public arena constitute libel? I get Sessions rolling over and playing dead but some of the people being attacked by tRump definitely have no reason to be so passive. I just don't get it. Why doesn't someone sue for defamation of character? He makes some outlandish claims I can't see a normal person getting away with.

I don't know the libel laws, and maybe the internet is different, as with so many other subjects? I dunno.

Going to need a statement of fact, not opinion, that is false. Then need actual damages in many instances. Plus, if the target is a public person, you’ll need actual malice.

Trump has the malice down pat. The other stuff would be difficult to prove, I think, at this point.

So glad to see a bunch of law enforcement circle jerking with Trump as he lies about his accomplishments and ruins the English language with his sentences.
