Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

From your lips to God's ears.... except he needs to be important and think people like him. Instead he is a social pariah to the people he wants to be accepted by- so it won't work that way.

There seems to be a bit of an obsession... although I'm fairly certain it's in the opposite direction from what you are projecting here. ;)

A difference can be seen between the two statements. One is to enact change as a direct result of the death occurring, while the other is indirectly using someone's death and the corresponding person's beliefs to grandstand about how the deceased was so much better than another person. The former has been motivation for war countless times in history. "Remember the Alamo", "Remember the Maine", Archduke Franz Ferdinand's assassination, just to name a few. That being said, could the latter have been worded a bit differently? Perhaps. However, when it comes down to the true meaning of Ms. Owens' words, that seems to be what she's trying to convey.

Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

Donald Trump is really a definitive, text book fascist. Here's fascism from wiki:

Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of radical authoritarian ultranationalism, characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy.

Fascists believe that liberal democracy is obsolete and they regard the complete mobilization of society under a totalitarian one-party state as necessary to prepare a nation for armed conflict and to respond effectively to economic difficulties. Such a state is led by a strong leader—such as a dictator and a martial government composed of the members of the governing fascist party—to forge national unity and maintain a stable and orderly society. Fascism rejects assertions that violence is automatically negative in nature and views political violence, war and imperialism as means that can achieve national rejuvenation. Fascists advocate a mixed economy, with the principal goal of achieving autarky through protectionist and interventionist economic policies.

Quoted for truth.

And the fact that the Trumpeters here won't admit to it.

How is Trump a dictator? How is he suppressing opposition? How is he using martial law? Show me actual policies, not commentaries.

Of the past few administrations, the only one that really comes close to the given definition of fascism is GWB. Sure, Obama had some tendencies that were a bit more subtle, but he seemed more like a talking puppet, and anything that could be construed as the definition were really reactionary by various groups (BLM, Occupy, etc.). If there was a fascist entity behind it (wouldn't put it past defining the Soros family as such), it wasn't Obama. Today, the true fascism is coming from the tech left, as well as those that claim to be anti-fascist and use fascist techniques to promote their goals, again funded by the Soros family.

If you truly want to go after fascism (and somehow I don't think you do and you've just been ordered by your collegiate brainwashing to be anti-Trump, especially since people were calling him fascist before he even took office, but I'd be happy to be proved wrong), then I would really start looking beyond the head of state, and more towards the appointed actors in government, and the top 1% of 1% powers.

There is one big difference. Those of us who are now leaning (or diving head first) towards progressive politicians are sometimes willing to call ours out when they behave this reprehensibly hypocritical. republicans and trump supporters have been 100% unwilling to own up to the overwhelming hypocrisy the right spews forth on a daily basis. Hopefully that continues through November and on into the 2020 election cycle, because that might help to wipe the republican party off the face of our politics.

Oh, let's see. Firing anyone at the FBI with experience in Russian organized crime and money laundering. Stripping security clearances from anyone who dares speak poorly of him in the media. Bullying and denouncing the free press in order to cower them from writuing negative stories, and stirring up his brownshirts against them.

One does not become a full-blown Mussolini or Hitler overnight. It starts with the little things, and goes from there. You, like Hovey and Joe, can either nip it in the bud now, or you can just sit back and chill and relax and watch it happen. Good little Germans, all of you.
