Then the bank shouldn't have leant it to you. We're talking about loans from institutions here, not bumming $10 off a friend to cover lunch cause you left your wallet at the office.

I doubt anyone will be as buffoonish as Pruitt was, so the outrage will take longer.

Right. And I suppose dissing our allies has no geopolitical effect either. Why are you arguing with me? I haven't stated anything here that isn't in the mainstream or isn't conventional wisdom. I'll let you know when I go out on a limb.

The bank is to assume you have anything other than good faith (meaning intent to repay the loan)? The bank is to somehow just "know" that you're planning to swindle them and not give you the loan. And how, pray tell, are they to make this assumption.

The same way the borrower is supposed to know that the lender isn't predatory and trying to take all their money - Due diligence. Or collateral.

I don't know about you, but every time I've taken out a loan from a bank, they don't just exactly hand you a check out of the blue.

yeah, I'm perfectly ok with it. They ignore the voices of their constituents, either barring from their offices, or staging town hall events where only their party members are allowed to attend, the only voices they do pay attention to are the ones handing them money.

They need to hear the voices of the majority of the people. They need to understand that what they are doing aren't just economic and social exercises in textbooks, that the things they do have real impacts on the lives of real people. They are not king-like chosen ones ruling over the peasantry, they work for us. We pay their salaries. Time they started remembering that. Time for the bubble to start being popped.


If this is what it takes to do so, then so be it. Better than blowing up their limousines with a car bomb.

Reinstate year round Pell Grants
Make all loans are subsidized
Make all loans follow undergraduate interest rates, and I may even add getting rid of the additional 2% added onto the 10 year T-note that makes up the rate.

Make personal finance a required course in high schools. 17 and 18 year olds do not know what it means when they sign up for a student loan. It's just a number to get them into classes at that age.

I'm with you on those two < virtual high-five > :

- The 10-year T number is enough. No surcharge. The House doesn't need that extra vig.
- Money is a thing we all deal with every day. And it's a thing very few of us have ever had formal training about handling on.
