Awful people are awful. News at 11? Rhetoric that helped put Trump in the White House was building for years. A**holes like this became more brazen. This isn't some grand Democratic coverup. This is the airing of dirty laundry. Someone else in Trump's position could make reparations and get this problem fixed. Trump is enabling it. Trump is promoting it. This is Trump's brand.

Same as his child hostage holding during "Trump Summer Camp 2018," over money for his fu**ing wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for. Trump pushed zero tolerance for what is a misdemeanor offense. Trump LIED that the Democrats were the cause of it. Trump LIED that his hands were tied and he couldn't make this go away with a swipe of his pen. Trump exposed his LIES by signing the Executive Order. This was the equivalent of one of his snubbed subcontractors on a failed building project calling chicken and winning.


*Edit* This is political because the TrumpGOP plays upon these fears. They hype their brand stating how big of a problem this is. Their whole party is built upon the the lies of peoples fears.

Look, I'm not telling you what to do, how you should act, or what course of action you are required to take as you attempt to change the course of things in this country. I'm just telling you that I agree with the NYT observation. People don't tend to be persuaded by arguments that are made in a frightening, unhinged, overstated type of way. If you want to persuade me to your position, don't tell me they're putting children in concentration camps when everyone knows that to be not true. You simply look unreliable and hysterical. I (and probably many others) tend to ignore people like that.

Donald Trump is hysterical when he talks about the "infestation of the country" or being overrun by "murderers and thugs." I'm not sure it's a great idea to stoop to his level of hysterics when trying to counter him.

Where are you getting your news?

The news I have listened to, none of them have called them concentration camps. None of them.

All of them stated the facts- kids were taken from parents, sometimes many states away; there is a special detention places for younger kids; some of them are held in fenced in areas.

Why is that not enough to change minds, and why is that not so bad that people are really, really upset about it? That's far from hysterical, that's factual. If you see the facts as hysterical ranting, I'm not sure what to tell you.

On the contrary, if 2016 demonstrated anything, it's that hysterics is exactly what works. On the other hand, I think that probably only applies when it's Republicans being hysterical--so you may be right after all.

Please explain to the crowd why people should not get really upset when kids are taken from their parents.

In simple words.

Just answer that.

I don't understand the expectation that a large number of people will not get VERY upset that their country is taking kids from parents.

If dumpy's goal is to **** a lot of people off, it IS working. But I don't see how that works very long, as November is quickly approaching.

Just saw a Facebook video put out by a right wing organization that debunks that entire narrative. They have that kind of propaganda all over the place. They don't deviate from message, and they stay on point.

Democrats don't do that.

Trump during his little talk that I posted part of in that tweet I posted ran a truck over the Democrats. He has the bully pulpit and HE USES IT. Democrats don't. Obama really needed to go after them more than he did. But, they always "play the victim" better than the Democrats. Case in point. Flint, Michigan is a REAL ViCTIM but they play the victim much less than Republicans. Republicans play the victim 24/7 at every media outlet that exists. Democrats moved on from Flint a long time ago.
