Re: POTUS 45.35: Still Winning. Don't care if you're tired of winning.

So there are a lot of posters here who claim that they are Christians.

I'm curious that you are not more outraged with this.

Lest we forget, using the Bible to justify horrible things was also done to allow slavery, and then pretty much everything Hitler and his henchmen wanted to do. And still people want to blow that off.

Wake up people, and if you are an R, and are seeing your candidate fully behind this bigoted moron, you'd better vote against them. This *should* be part of your core values. I can't take any complaints about abortion seriously if you are ok with this treatment at the border.

What I rely on the Bible for: the lesson of "do unto others." That's about it.

Devil's advocate: just because you say something, it doesn't make it true.

Of course, this is most likely a bad example, however......how quick do we believe propaganda when it now serves our purposes.....

Re: POTUS 45.35: Still Winning. Don't care if you're tired of winning.

It doesnt matter...the fact that Russia State Media (so you know Putin) is openly saying that they own Trump is never a good thing.

Speaking of State Media:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-cards="hidden" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">WATCH: Laura Ingraham confronts ex-RNC chair for comparing Trump separating families at border to Nazi tactics <a href="https://t.co/bODgcZ6lbf">https://t.co/bODgcZ6lbf</a> <a href="https://t.co/wisVRA3Yo4">pic.twitter.com/wisVRA3Yo4</a></p>— The Hill (@thehill) <a href="https://twitter.com/thehill/status/1008130388370345985?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 16, 2018</a></blockquote>

I dont think Airhead Ingraham knows anything about Nazis...cause if she did she would realize she is acting just like one of them. She is the scum of the Earth.

Re: POTUS 45.35: Still Winning. Don't care if you're tired of winning.

Ronald Reagan often said good things about senators and congressmen who disagreed with him and rarely voted with him. trump tweets idiotic vitriol against senators and congressmen who vote with him, pretty much in lock step. All of theses cowardly members of congress who are "retiring" and are speaking out against trump have voting records that show almost universal agreement with trump on various pieces of legislation. That fact alone should worry anyone who claims to be a conservative. He doesn't want political support. He wants slavish support. He wants "his people" to bow down when he speaks. Mark Sanford is the latest republican to speak out against the negative effect trump is having on the republican party.

Our politics are broken, but there is hope on the democratic side of the aisle. While that party has failed in numerous areas there are at least indications it can be repaired and function to elect people who serve as the constitution intended the congress to act, as one of three equal and separate branches of government. But the republican party is a lost cause. It has been shattered into too many pieces to be put back together into a functioning organization. It is the party of trump, and that means only one thing, subservience to trump. I find it shocking that so many people in this country have allowed this to happen. What will it take for republican voters to see the error of their ways? Another unnecessary war but one where 50 or 60,000 members of the military die? Political assassinations like in the 1960s? Or a civil war where hundreds of thousand of Americans die? We're headed down that path.

The problem with many republicans is that they want their way, even if they don't agree. We had 8 solid years of "no", regardless of how good the policy was or not. That pattern of hate against anything D has been solidly set in stone, so that it really doesn't matter the policy vs. who is the one starting it. People like Drew are a good example of just that- much of what R's say they want is supposedly not what he wants, but he still votes for them.

And the whole facade of "family values" is white family values. To the point that if Puerto Rico ever really joins the Union, the actual conservatives there will be shunned. The only "exception" to this are when the policy is anti D- such as Cuba. And since that policy pretty much hurts an entire island of non whites- listening to a handful of them in Florida is acceptable.

There's no way to hide it anymore, Republican followers, your party is being ruled by racists. How you dance around that is your choice, but that is exactly what you are. If you don't think so, when will illegal immigrants crossing our norther border be separated from their families?

Ryan blocked a bipartisan bill that would have given the Dreamers protection from deportation and given them a pathway to citizenship. The measure also would have provided money for more sensible border security than the expensive and inefficient Trump wall.

The bill, sponsored by Republican Will Hurd, whose South Texas district covers 800 miles along the Mexican border, and California Democrat Pete Aguilar, easily would have won a majority in the House. But Ryan took his marching orders from Trump, who sees immigration-bashing as a big campaign issue in the fall campaign, and prevented a vote.

Instead, the House this week will take up a harsh measure offered by the nativist chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Bob Goodlatte, and a politically motivated "compromise" the Republican leadership is trying to cobble together.

Ryan started in politics as a disciple of the late Jack Kemp and as a pro-immigration "opportunity society" Republican. He abandoned those principles to pander to Trump and the so-called Freedom Caucus, and this latest endeavor is another black mark on what has been a miserable final turn for him.

The result will be either nothing passes, or the fraudulent "compromise" -- designed to give some endangered House Republicans phony talking points in the fall -- squeaks through. The Dreamers will continue to be left in the lurch.

Re: POTUS 45.35: Still Winning. Don't care if you're tired of winning.

Paul Ryan will be looked at with disgust by history. A complete Chamberlain as fascism and authoritarianism rolled down Pennsylvania Ave

Re: POTUS 45.35: Still Winning. Don't care if you're tired of winning.

And the Dems caved to shutting down because these same people said they would pass a Dreamers bill.

Well, that ain't happening ever now. Just as we all suspected.

Spitballing here, but if there is a blue wave this November, what's stopping the Republican controlled everything from pulling a North Carolina and neutering any Dem Majority?
