For the "talent" in TV:
In front of the camera or in the writer room: real.
Everything else: bullsh-t.
Talent even sometimes gets credit as show runner, but when they do it's the ASM doing all the work while the hairdo preens.
Roseanne Barr did work in the trenches and did pay her dues, and I think that idiotic politics aside she probably still works her butt off at her craft. But "producer" or "director" credit for anybody you have ever seen in front of a camera are gilt welfare. "Producer" is typically BS anyway. "Director" is its own complex and demanding discipline; no actor parachuting in on their name has any business being there; and the sausage machine knows this and adjusts accordingly, typically without Captain Dunsel any the wiser.

There are some producers who may actually earn the title, take an active part in getting something from the page to the screen, where their decisions have an important impact.
Most "producer" titles are handouts to people or friends who have ponied up some cash, or in the case of actors also listed as producers, just a gift of some extra pocket change, and to keep them happy so they don't walk, and the series ends.
