I need to quit paying attention to the news. I'm rapidly reaching a point of no return where all I want to see is republicans leaders dying. Just flat out dying. The republicans running congress have it in their power to say "no more." They can decide enough is enough and America needs a re-set and a return to some form of the ideals it was founded on. Fvck, just read the inscription at the Statue of Liberty. Yet they turn a blind eye to all of it. Every story that comes out with yet another example of how those in positions of power are behaving reprehensibly or criminally is met with silence or approval by nearly every republican. Fvck them all. They all should die today.

Doesn't the article say that the report documents abuses that occurred between 2009 and 2014, during the period the Obama administration was running DHS? Not that I blame Obama for the actions of a bunch of perverted border agents, but I'm curious about your response.

Depends which part he's referring to but the separation of kids from their parents is not an Obama era policy.

But yes, it's one of many no so bright spots on Obama's record.

We often don't discover problems until after the fact. Sometimes long after the fact. I want to see republicans in congress scream from the highest mountaintop this is wrong. In America we protect children. Or at least we're supposed to. I don't care if it happened yesterday, last year or 10 years ago. Hold the loose cannons in law enforcement responsible and make sure it doesn't happen again. I'm not holding my breath. So all republicans can still go fvck themselves.

Yeah, except the story clearly points out that the abuse of the 116 children was reported years ago, and in 2014 DHS apparently couldn't figure out what happened, so it's not like it was just discovered now.

There is no shame in admitting that you only read the first two paragraphs of the link before coming on here to rant about it.

We have some conservatives who post here often, despite being clearly outnumbered and often getting nothing but shyt for it. And they often do so in an even-handed and thoughtful manner. This site would not be as good without them.

None of them voted for Trump, of course. :D

Unless Trump’s presidency ends early, a streak of mine dating back to 1984 will end. I have voted for a second term for every sitting President, except Carter. I’ve always believed 4 years is too short a time to make a difference.

There's probably some truth to that, and it confirms your objectivity, but I cannot understand voting for Dubya after the Iraq invasion. Our representatives voted to support it, so Dems have ownership of that decision too, but for voters who were not subject to the intense political pressure of false patriotism, it seemed even then to be completely unjustified and dangerous in the long run.

The Iraq war wasn't an obvious unmitigated disaster until 2005-06, after his re-election.
