But I bet the republicans will still try to tie her into the mix in their campaigning. During the 2018 midterms we will be constantly reminded of two things, Pelosi returning as speaker, and Hilary's emails.

Exactly. So why bother with them? Brent wants people to waste their time just like Hillary did. Never again. Republicans are not worth talking to. Romney and Trump got the same number of votes and in 2020 they'll get the same again. They don't cross for Democrats. God, Gays, and Guns. You will never convince them otherwise so don't bother.

Democrats have been trying to "understand" the types of people who vote for republicans but "should" vote for democrats since the Reagan sweep in 1980. It made sense then, and it made some sense for the next couple of elections. But after the republicans decided being republican was more important than being American during the Clinton years, and then doubling down on that sentiment during the Obama years, it has become obvious they are almost universally a lost cause. The amount of energy and effort it would take to convince one trump voter that the republicans really are not their friends could be better spent getting 3 or 4 democrats who couldn't be bothered to vote in 2010, 2012, 2014 or 2016 to come to the polls.

It lasted just one election for Bush's great recession and Iraq debacles.

Do remember that with true representation - the goal of the Founding Fathers - based on 2016 US voters, we would have a D president, a D Senate, a D Supreme Court and a split House. And if the government was formed based on the actual humans that it represents rather than votes - we would have a landslide for Ds across the board. The US government selection process is heavily biased against liberals.

Yes, some Dems, and some Libertarians, and some (insert fringe party). Scooby is demonstrating it currently, in response to my post about the Anti-Hillary/not Pro-Trump people. He, and others of his thinking, are shutting out people who don't think like they do. No exceptions.

No, we're shutting out people who thought Trump was an acceptable solution, either by voting for him or not supporting the alternative in order to avoid him. It was incredibly obvious to anyone with a working brain that Trump would be an enormous disaster, someone ok with that isn't worth bringing in.

It's not the Pro-Trump that made the difference in the last election. It was the Anti-Hillary. Small, but significant difference there. THOSE are the people that need to be listened to, and understood (even if there still ends up being disagreement).

To break it down, there were some people who weren't going to vote for Hillary, no matter what. They might not have liked voting for Trump (or 3rd party, etc etc), but they did anyway. IMO, that's the audience that needs to be heard.

And looking at the last few posts, I've proved my point about the extremist left. Not the ones who will actually listen and try to understand and get the anti-Hill voters to understand things, or see things in a different way. The ones that shut out everyone that doesn't agree with them. Much like the Trumpers. Congrats on achieving that level of hypocrisy.

I already said they might have disagreed with her policies, or her political ties in general, if you want to get specific, she is a Clinton. And I get the usual dismissal. Hell, DX of ALL people said I was correct on the anti-Hill point, yet some of you still choose not to see that. That right there shows the problem on the Dems side.

I didn't vote at all, because no way I was voting for Hill, and I'd be dammed if I was voting for that POS Trump. This type of vote is the one that needs to be swayed.

The first point: I don't know. Depends on the voter.
Secondly, it's not just the Clinton Organization. It also goes back to the Bush legacy. Outside of Obama, if Hill got elected, the majority of the last 3 decades of presidents came from two families. That's an issue for many a voter. So they voted for a change. Right or wrong, that's another reason why it happened.

Wake up and see it for what it is. For real. People are fed up, and shutting out people without actually engaging them is just adding to the problem. I don't care what side you are on. Discuss, and discuss some more. If all else fails, at least you tried to reach out.
