Re: POTUS 45.32: QAnon Will Help Show the Truth

At least it wasnt Jezebel...right now they must be spinning in circles trying to figure out how to cover this. A woman ripping a woman...maybe Wolf had a male writer they can shameblame into obscurity....

Jezebel has some writers who do a very good job trying to deal with stuff like that. It's not the Catherine MacKinnon Hour that people think it is.

If you want a place that is completely bereft of an ounce of self-awareness and introspection, try The Root. It's all the stupid things people erroneously think Jezebel is.

Edit: here is the piece Jezebel published on this.

Indeed, it appears the WHCA was under the impression they’d hired some softball comedian to tell everyone on both sides what a good job they were doing, while making some light jokes about Trump’s hair, because it is so silly!!! Everyone can agree on that! What fun! Such jokes! Sadly, the WHCA had apparently never bothered to watch one of Wolf’s stand-up sets, and now they are very sorry that she had the audacity to spoil CNN’s meal by pointing out how complicit everyone is in the hellscape in which we are all currently embroiled. And she used such naughty language, goodness.

Of course, by distancing themselves from Wolf’s set, the WHCA has made nice with the people within the Trump Administration from whom they need access. Sarah Huckabee Sanders will remember that Maggie Haberman defended her honor, not that she deserved it, or that she’ll stop spewing untruths from the podium anytime soon. From an outsider’s perspective, that’s pretty much the whole point of this White House Correspondents’ Dinner, hence why it’s so repulsive—it’s hard to hold people’s feet to the fire when you feel compelled to flatter them in exchange for scoops, then celebrate together over monkfish at a Hilton.

Which is why Wolf’s set was so good. She didn’t give a **** if she made people angry. She was not trying to curry favor. She does not intend to get invited to the White House, convince Kellyanne Conway to leak to her that President Trump calls Don Jr. as “the gross, sad one,” then put it in her TELL-ALL bestseller and make a bajillion dollars. She was the voice of Americans out there who are sick to death of this ****—from cable news, from the White House, from Chris Cillizza’s Twitter feed—but don’t have the opportunity to say it to anyone’s face. That is not to say that journalists aren’t breaking important stories—certainly, many are, and with all the anti-media sentiment out there, it is difficult work. But media is also full of high-paid blowhards who trade in the pursuit of the truth for their own ratings and fame, and Wolf told those folks to suck it.

Today marks the death of the father of the modern Republican Party.

The Root is awful but Jezebel sucks. The Root is worse (so much race baiting) but Jezebel and their defenders are what will be the downfall of #MeToo

In my opinion, this is not true. There are silly writers at Jezebel but there are good writers, too. The general atmosphere of the place is free inquiry. Where else in the entire blogosphere are you going to get that on women's issues?

Re: POTUS 45.32: QAnon Will Help Show the Truth

BOOM.

As for political balance, it should be noted that the W.H.C.A. invited America’s premiere conservative insult comic, and he chose to do a rally in Michigan instead. Mr. Trump knows the political value of a Don Rickles zinger. He intuits that audiences grant comedians a leeway they don’t to the stuffier professions.

Comedians are powerful — and sometimes more trusted and respected than journalists, as “The Daily Show” and company have shown — because they can say uncomfortable things flat-out, ditch the euphemisms, call a “falsehood” a lie. Comedy isn’t reporting, but it is testimony. (Ms. Wolf ended her own routine with a straight line: “Flint still doesn’t have clean water.”)

The irony of the association’s disavowing Ms. Wolf is that her routine, whether you agree with it or not, was ultimately about defending the mission of the White House press: sticking up for the truth. Michelle Wolf had the W.H.C.A.’s back Saturday night, even if it didn’t have hers the day after.

@AnnCoulter: Trump decided to meet with Nigerian president after receiving an email promising him untold riches if he wired $5 billion.

C'mon.
Fake news.
Trump can't read much less do his own email.

Then again, Coulter put that onto his favorite (or is it second?) news source so he'll see that (and someone will read it to him).

Re: POTUS 45.32: QAnon Will Help Show the Truth

I specifically stated "POTUS45" because I knew Citizen Trump was there and belittled for thinking about the Presidency during the 2011 event.

Wrong!

He was belittled for being one of the biggest cheerleaders of the dumbest, and arguably most vile conspiracy theory of the 21st Century to date; and rightfully so. Of course, being Trumplethinskin, he still has a stick up his arse about it.

During an interview on CNN on Monday, frequent Fox News guest and American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp made a case that it is not the job of journalists to inform the public when the president or his spokespeople are lying. Instead, Schlapp suggested journalists should just provide stenography of what government officials are saying, and let the American people do their best to sort out who is telling the truth — because otherwise the feelings of Trump supporters might get hurt. “We have political disagreements in this country, and I think it’s wrong for journalists to take that next step,” Schlapp said. “Just present the facts. Let the American people decide if they think someone
