He never ever ever ever ever tells the truth about ANYTHING. And then he has the gall to say "Fake News". It's sick. It's appalling. It's embarrassing. I feel like we finally know what a Banana Republic feels like and I don't understand how our system of government can actually attain that result. What checks and balances? Even if the lies are reported unless his own party calls him out nothing happens. We even allow the Press Secretary of the United States to lie now.

It's pathetic.

Dump projects. When he calls somebody a liar it's because he's lying. When he calls someone a traitor it's because he's guilty of treason.

We are dealing with a 6-year old.

He's a candidate for the 25th is what he is.

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Now, yes, the GOP are feckless cowards, so this will not happen. But Dump is clearly mentally unstable in addition to being intellectually deficient for the office. It would be nice if an intelligence test came out of this for office holding. If not voting. Kinda rough on democracy, but we're talking about the power to eliminate the species -- the pandering delusion of equality can take a back seat to that.

When the history is written about this period of time (provided humans are still around to read it, the jury is still out on that) the biggest villain is not going to be trump, or even the people who he has hired along the way to drain the swamp. The biggest villains are going to be the republican leaders in congress, and most of their caucus.

It is actually very easy for them to stand up to trump and thwart nearly anything he wants to do. Aside from a few Executive Orders, he could be very effectively neutered. Yet they have stood mostly mute (save for the ones retiring or dying within the next year) and let him get away with making a mockery out of the most important elected office on the face of the Earth.

trump is mentally ill or a terrible person, take your pick. He's quite clearly the most unfit person to be elected president in the nation's history. But he's one little turd in a city that is literally full of human waste product masquerading as people. But our system is still nicely designed, even in 2018 when things move at a lightning pace and no one has an attention span longer than it takes a gnat to fart, for the legislative branch to act as a responsible foil to a dangerous demagogue in the White House.

For more than 400 straight days now, the American Congress has failed in their most important responsibility. Americans who live in republican districts and with republican senators up for reelection in 2018 have got to punish these people for failing to behave as Americans and failing to protect and defend the constitution and the nation from its enemies, foreign or domestic. To me it is not hyperbole to say that republicans in congress have acted in a treasonous fashion for their failures where trump is concerned. At the very least they should all pay with their jobs. In my mind quite a lot of them should pay even a much higher price.

Agreed. Dump is an infant that can't help being what it is. But the GOP Members, although by definition mentally limited, are to blame for being so craven and focused on their theft that they don't bring him to heel. Their cowardice is even more damaging than their voters' stupidity.

That is a well thought out post, but I'd go further and say the vast majority of politicians are like this, no matter the party. This current administration has simply taken it to the next level and beyond.

The party of "values voters" never fails to disappoint.

GOP consultant Benjamin Spark (worked for Romney, Ryan, Walker and many others) signed an agreement with his new fiance for her to be his “slave and property” and do various BDSM-like things around the house. But things broke down when he demanded she have sex with other men, bound and blindfolded, while he watched. She said no. He attacked her. And when the cops showed up, he fled the state, apparently absconding to Texas.

I think all politicians are bad. They only look after their lobbies and themselves. This admin has gone above and beyond that. By far. No question. I think that is crystal clear.
