POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

This is the lasting effect of Obama. He was an attractive, articulate, young candidate who really had no track record. He voted "present" how many times in the IL Legislature? He made a speech at the DNC that introduced him to the country and then served two years in the US Senate. The DNC now believes this is how to retake the Oval Office.

Who wins in this paradigm? Chelsea Clinton. Who loses? I'll let someone else answer, but I do believe the answer has already appeared here.

If by Obama you mean Reagan.

Scooby, is that you? ;)

Hillary's vag (shiver) didn't lose, Hillary lost. Another (any other) female candidate will do fine. Assuming Trump continues to be himself, 'scuse me, Himself, I suspect the GOP will run several women in 2020.

And they'll all lose. A woman will not be elected President. 53% of white women proved that.

It's an old strategy to run somebody without a track record. That's why governors are so popular. They don't have any Congressional votes to answer for. The idea that they are somehow experienced executives is a crock -- unless they are governor of CA or possibly NY a governor is about as useful as you know what on a bull. About the most you can say for their experience is they gained insight into the politics of the executive branch. But as for actual governance, what governors of 48 or 49 of the states do most of all is duck and deflect their responsibilities to the federal government and then whine about federal decisions, which is exactly the opposite of what a president has to do.

Obama became president because (1) the Republicans nearly destroyed the country, and (2) he was judicious, responsible and articulate, which after the prior 8 years made him look like a fusion of Fred Friendly, Archibald Cox, and Lincoln. We're not going to recreate that, and we know it. Our next nominee has to be all those things, but we're not going to score 6's all the way across the board.

(See fundies: 666 -- you were right all along.)

There you are! :)

You learned the wrong lesson. It wasn't a vag, it was her vag.

Anyway, have gotten back from the Walker inauguration yet?

I admit I had no idea the Republicans would shed the sheep clothing and just elect the wolf outright. That's a new dynamic. There's no way a woman is going to get elected President though. I know the reasons the 53% went Trump and they're reasons that will take decades to change.

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

Yes except proving he is a fool isnt enough and you know it. The people who voted for him arent changing their mind. The way to beat him is to actually turn out and vote. Stuff like this ticks off liberals now but they will be on to their next outrage in 4 years.

The Left needs to spend as much time fixing itself as it does worrying about every tweet the Urine King sends out...

I'm not so sure about that- listening to the angry crowd in Utah at a town hall meeting for Rep Chaffetz didn't exactly sound happy. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...trump-brings-boos-and-jeers-at-utah-town-hall

It seems as if a *few* people who were concerned about Secretary Clinton's possible corruption are concerned with don's rather obvious corruption- some which is legal (as explained), some which go against a specific contract (his property in DC) and some which go directly against the Constitution. Funny how people were so concerned about the Clinton Foundation's corruption- which was more about pay to play in a foundation that's goal is it help people, but were not concerned about don's probable direct making money off of being the President. How the heck is the latter better than the former???

It's evil that certain contractors were able to be part of the Haitian relief, but ok that properties owned by don (in a revocable trust- not a blind one) make money on the US directly against the contract and get payments from other governments. Wow.

That's pretty funny. Not true. But funny.

Well, I wasn't aware you were a PhD in poli sci. :p

I'd like to see the cross-tabs on those 53% by age and race. 4 years is 4 more years of the olds dying, and 4 more years of "decent church-going women with their mean, pinched, bitter, evil faces" being dumped in the ground and off the voter rolls. Phyllis Schlafly is literally dead, and she's taking an entire generation of nasty old biddies and their assumptions about women with her. You don't need a pen1s to be a sexist (though it does help).

I find as completely degrading and demeaning the "vagina" excuse tossed about here regarding Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren.

If that was a real excuse, how in the world do "red" or "purple" states considered by many here as hick-filled, backwards, rural, wastelands like ND and ME elect senators like Heidi Heitkamp and Olympia Snowe? My goodness ... each of them have ... the "v" word!

And yes, I voted for Heidi. She sees some issues important to me and ND the way I do. And that's why I voted for her.

Big difference between Senate and President. Trust me, I've heard the arguments. I know the people like that and there are a lot of them.

53% didn't vote Hillary specifically and while a lot of that was based on faux controversy she did have her share of issues.

Anone who didn't vote for Hillary primarily because she's a woman was already voting Republican. Sexism played no part in the outcome.

It doesn't matter whether Republicans are voting based on bigotry or sexism or anti-intellectualism. Those votes are already lost and there is absolutely no point in chasing them. Even if a Dem did give them a wink, the Republicans are there to give them the pure product, spike in the vein.

Now this I agree with. Hillary's big mistake wasn't her flaws. It was chasing Republican votes. A complete waste of time that lost her the election.

Go read and hear the NPR report that I posted. Utah is a pretty clear red state, and the sound of the crowd didn't seem that happy. I'm not saying there are a lot of people, but it's certainly not zero.

They're not Republicans. They're Democrats or they voted for McMullin. There's not a single Republican in that state that wouldn't vote for Chaffetz again

Could be. I think a good parallel *ahem* is the Korean War. The South had the war effectively won by September 1950. They got greedy and tried to make it a total and historical defeat instead of just winning the war. They pushed too far north and the North pushed back. If Hillary had just solidified her gains on the left and the middle, she would be in her third week today and we wouldn't be one constitution crisis short of a free box of steaks.
