Jesus. Rob Porter never had security clearance and he was handling materials that were so classified, the actual security clearance itself is classified.

Half of his staff can't get permanent security clearances. Can't imagine why.

Yeah, it kinda bothers me that people like him are able to have jobs like that without a security clearance.

If the WH staff already knew about Porter slapping his ex-wives around, and hired him anyway, can't we conclude that conservatives almost to a man don't consider spousal abuse to be that big of a deal?

Yeah, we've known that for a while. That's why Franken is gone and Farenthold is still in the House.

Kind of like how the Rs around here hyperventilate about Hilary’s emails but don’t care about any of the 400 ways this administration has used insecure phones, shared classified info, left it on a plane. Etc

That’s bad, but just as bad is that domestic violence is almost always a disqualifier for security clearance. Exceedingly rare.

Someone approved him to handle the most highly classified info we have in this country and did so without clearance. That’s a scandal.

The his job is to basically parse the information the rest of the government gives to the president. The Joint Chiefs don’t give the president documents. They give it to the White House staff secretary who reads and disseminates it to the president in consultation with the chief of staff. This is basically the #2 yo the president in the west wing.

I've noticed the USCHO conservatives/apologists are surprisingly silent on this one...

Yeah, that one is a mind bender. The Democrats should be harping on that but they are horrible marketers. The Republicans are much better at selling a narrative.

I think it’s horrible, and I’d be surprised if there was anyone who thought differently. A lot of people won’t work for Trump because of all the media pressure and guys like Porter are what is left.
