Re: POTUS 45.25: Oh Jesus, What Now

I recall my brother saying how many long term pros were leaving the foreign service after Bush went into Iraq--republicans and democrats alike. I can only imagine what it's like now.

DOS has lost most of its institutional memory.

They're going to need enticements to brings these people back after Dump. I'd vest them with full tenure for time in exile.

Re: POTUS 45.25: Oh Jesus, What Now

It’s obvious people strongly disagree with me, and to be honest you’re probably right. I shouldn’t have commented. Parenting is obviously very tricky business and I shouldn’t be so quick to judge. They sound like people who were very concerned with their daughter, which is to be commended. It’s horrible that people so young died and hopefully in time everyone involved can heal as much as possible.

Yeah. You probably shouldn't have politicized it. But as long as you're asking, you're wrong.

What if the victims had a gun but didn't have it handy? The daughter could take that gun and go over to his parents house, and shoot them and a visiting friend for good measure (who might not have access to their gun). Then the original killers brother looking for vengeance, brings his gun back after the daughter.

The victim is wholly responsible for his actions, and his access to and use of life threatening weaponry enabled him.

Re: POTUS 45.25: Oh Jesus, What Now

If the victims had a gun there’s like a less than 5% chance they wouldn’t have been killed or not hit a bystander etc. I honestly wonder if these people who think guns protect them believe action movies are realistic because it’s the only possible explanation.

And the only reason we hear about "good person with gun stopping bad person with gun" is in the rare occasion that actually works.

Well that’s because everyone isn’t carrying around an AR-15 at all times like they should! ;)

They always think they're gonna be the one to go, "Yippee ki yay, motherfcker" on the bit.
They definitely think die hard is the best Xmas movie, because it takes place on Xmas you know!

If the parents who were killed had a gun maybe they could have defended themselves. Classy of them to snitch on the guy and force their daughter to break up with him. It’s horrible they were killed, especially right before Christmas, but I think it’s safe to say they didn’t handle the situation very well.

Wow. Your comments have always been kind of dumb, but up until now I didn't have any reason to think you weren't at least a decent person.

Yes, so if your daughter was dating a neo-Nazi, you'd gladly invite him over to the house for cookouts, take him fishing, maybe go assault a few niggas together. You know, bonding stuff.

Jesus, is there nothing you won't make excuses for?

They handled it as reasonably as any decent parent, you transparent Nazi apologist. May you never reproduce.

Seriously, are your ancestors tied to the leaders of Vichy France, or something?

That is the Christmas spirit right there. All my wife wants in life is for us to have kids, which we plan to do in a few years. It’s nice to know you would deny her that because of a dumb post on a message board. As I said in my other post I regret posting what I did.

Both of my grandfathers fought in the war and a uncle was there on D-day. Needless to say I have a strong distaste for Nazis.

I'll accept your apology. You have acknowledged that what you posted was very wrong.

I neither own a gun nor desire to own a gun, but Die Hard is the best Christmas movie.

In one post, an execrable lack of understanding of what good, sane parenting is. In another, an appeal to sympathy for your own fatherhood, and lame attempt to make me the jacka55? Forget it. You have much to learn.

Sorry for your wife. Hope she finds a better man who won't let his children "make a choice" about going out with Nazis in the name of 1A.

Re: POTUS 45.25: Oh Jesus, What Now

I have a soft spot for White Christmas. Yeah I know Bing was a supreme jerk. Just love that movie.

Other than that, Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Home Alone, Die Hard are favorites. No particular order.

Re: POTUS 45.25: Oh Jesus, What Now

Not a fan of Christmas story. And have never liked gremlins. Like as in not even want to see again to give another chance :)
