Al Jazeera has a special on now with US drug problem. They got a room full of women here, pregnant and getting a synthetic heroin. White women — why ain’t they in prison like colored women would be?

They have a grandma on now dealing with 4 little girls, oldest 10. Parents gone. Dude asked grandma if she has 14 yrs left to care for these girls. She is quiet and says “no”.

There ain’t **** for regulations regarding opioids compared to where it should be.

Exactly. Strong opiates should not be dispensed for simple dental work, but here we are, still allowing dentists to give them out.

They aren’t doing that though, they’re self policing which caused the entire problem.

And the problem goes beyond dentists prescribing it, they now know that distributors were selling them by the boat load to really small communities that were hooked on them with zero oversight. They were supposed to report on it and stop selling them if people got addicted but they obviously didn’t do that.

That seems to be what is being proposed. My grandfather was a manager of the Vanderbilt hotel in NYC during prohibition. What ever guests wanted he seemed to be able to find it without too much issue

You know what? You guys are right! Let’s dispense them at school. Each kid gets a Percocet before lunch. If they don’t want them, they don’t have to take them. :rolleyes:

Regulation doesn't mean banning them. Just don't hand them out like candy.

I've had a couple dental surgeries, and I actually had to sign forms saying I refused to accept Vicodin/Percocet. I get it, the dentist has to cover themselves for insurance reason, but it's THAT easy to get these types of drugs.
