Re: POTUS 45.21 STAND for our great National Anthem

So according to Kelly, we shouldn't be angry at Trump for what he said, we should be angry at the person who let it be known what Trump said?

We all know Trump is a self-absorbed fool incapable of empathy, but I tend to agree with Kelly's view of the Congresswman's conduct.

Re: POTUS 45.21 STAND for our great National Anthem

Kelly lost me when he started to pine for the days we held things sacred.

He’s not necessarily wrong though with regards to the congresswoman’s conduct. If the family had wanted that out, they should have been the ones to say it. That being said, it sounds like she was a family friend long, long before she went to Washington.

Kelly could have also admonished the president for saying what he did or at least acknowledge he said things inartfully.

What conduct? Kelly castigated her for "listening in" on the call, when everyone involved says the call was put on speakerphone. By phrasing it this way, Kelly is making it seem like her conduct was kind of shady, or some sort of nefarious scheme.
Basically, making her out to be some sort of bad person. And you seem to be buying it

Fair point. I detest Trump as much as anyone here, and I distrust anyone he would choose to surround himself with, but given that we already know he is what that conversation proved him to be, I guess I would not choose to play political football with it, since it involved the death of the woman's husband.

Re: POTUS 45.21 STAND for our great National Anthem

As Scooby pointed out earlier, when are the congressional hearings into the deaths of these four servicemen? When will Rex Tillerson be grilled for 10+ hours straight?

Had dump not politicized his actions before the comments about his total lack of empathy, you and General Kelly would have far more of a point.

But dump took the opportunity to show how great of a president he was and how bad of a president all of the previous ones were. Basically, he totally opened himself up for that criticism. And Kelly has not recognized that, yet. IMHO, it's fair game to correct dump in his honor to himself. Someone needs to stand up to this bully.

To show more of dump's character- he's now coming out that what the Congresswoman said was a total lie, as he claims to not have said that. This is well after General Kelly explaining that dump actually said it.

This is the same guy who has given himself 10's for Puerto Rico, and then basically demanding that the governor agree with him, in spite of the facts that the recovery is going along really, really slowly- and people really are dying because of it. Somehow, he can politicize people suffering, and only 20% power restored after 5 weeks. If dump is going to politicize himself reacting to people suffering, he needs to be called out on his total BS.

How the heck can anyone trust anyone in this administration?

According to Dr. Mrs., the Member in question is "a loon." However, this whole incident is just more evidence, as if we needed any, that Dump has no moral compass and no ethical instincts, and is just a narcissistic baby unfit to be president of an HOA let alone a nation.

After being pardoned by Trump he wants his record cleared. Judge says no.

The federal judge who oversaw the criminal case against Joe Arpaio says President Trump's pardon of the former sheriff's convictions does not require their legal reasoning be thrown out.

U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton issued an order Thursday shutting down requests by the sheriff's attorneys to have the facts behind the conviction thrown out after the pardon.

Bolton said in the order that Trump's pardon was an "executive prerogative of mercy, not of judicial recordkeeping," according to Politico.

She does the hat thing, like Bella. Ya gotta have a gimmick.

Someone retweeted a tweet from that Sheriff Clark (Joe? David?) that said she looked like a buffoon and said "Dude, she looks just like you." I need to find it. It was pretty amusing.

The white, sparkly one she was wearing during the tv interview I saw. Honestly, I haven't seen a hat like that since I was in the Mirage Casino in Las Vegas about five years ago during the National Finals Rodeo.
