I hope you and your children are always healthy and happy. But you're the one making the wrong choice between the scientific method and what you read in Us Weekly, and that vacuity is risking their health.

I am not trying to be a jerk. I have this conversation nearly daily with patients and other doctors. It is easier to be a bit snippy online so I am sorry if I come off like that. It is important to know that the vast majority of doctors are not great at analyzing primary literature. It is not tested strongly on boards and thus does not make it into the curriculum. There is no substitute for being an active participant in science and being able to critically analyze literature. There are good reasons to get a PhD and MD.

I do not doubt that you have found multiple doctors who agree with you, or that you have been able to work things out with. But here is the thing...if these "multiple doctors and experts" have a better method then they should publish it. Put it up to critical analysis. I can tell you from my own publications, there are many things that sound good in your training bubble but you really get your assumptions pushed when you put it out there in peer review. It makes you a better critical thinker and it makes your ideas stronger because they hold up to rigorous scientific scrutiny.

Tell them to publish where and how we are wrong with the recommended vaccine schedule. Why would they want to withhold this better schedule from the rest of the population?

Which is sufficiently comparable in sample size to the myriad of evidence provided by people that are actually in this field of study that suggest you're playing Russian Roulette. Now I will lecture you - nice parenting.

If I was to drive my kids around without car seats or seatbelts for a year, chances are they'd be fine. Would that vindicate my decision?

Was thinking about this thread when I was watching hockey- it seemed preferable at the time :( . With all the people who won't vaccinate, there are some providers who will agree to odd schedules simply because they feel like if they humor the parents at least the kids will get some vaccinations. I know the Doc I worked with did that for awhile. Then it got too crazy trying to figure out who would put our patients at risk in the waiting room so she decided to tell people if they weren't willing to vaccinate on the regular schedule they needed to come at the end of the day and wait in a room until the rest of the patients had left. Reason being the patients who were at risk wouldn't be exposed and the unvaccinated kids also wouldn't be exposed. Last I heard she had decided to go with if you were a conscientious objector she could no longer care for you.

I used to seek out Vaccine updates at conferences. Never went to one where I didn't learn something new. There were plenty of providers I knew who would argue with me about different schedules because the only knowledge they had was from when they went to school. Agree it isn't covered well. It isn't covered afterwards either. Lots of things that are sponsored by Pharma- meds for various conditions but other than the adult money maker vaccines very little is available unless you hunt for it

I doubt it. The political ruling class are the most UN-patriotic people in this country. His cabinet was chosen because most of them will sit on their hands and praise trump's leadership. And then you expect a congress dominated by republicans to override a certain objection to this by the president? Luck and prayer is all we have right now to keep trump from frying the world, because the political ruling class certainly won't do it. They will let the world fry before the go against someone who simply CALLS himself a republican. trump has proven daily to any rational person he is both unqualified AND mentally ill and yet he's still the president. Luck and prayer until January of 2019, and then it gets better only if enough people go to the polls and do what needs to be done. Section 4 of the 25th amendment is a pipe dream with the current makeup of congress and the president's cabinet.

Let's take the logic being applied here and apply it to another situation. GrinCDXX brought up cars, so lets go with that.

I hope you get all the recommended maintenance done to your car. You can't go over on the mileage before getting an oil change. And what about getting your belts changed on a regular interval. A lot of study by experts went into developing scheduled maintenance and if you don't do it, you are risking your own life, your passengers, and all surrounding drivers and pedestrians. May even be playing Russian roulette with people's lives.

What about speeding? Those speed limits again were researched and determined by experts in the field and going over them is risking lives. You could lose control of your car and hurt or kill someone. So all of you so upset at me for my take, I hope your cars are all up to date and I expect you never speed, not even a little bit, due to how dangerous it could be.

Thoughts about that?

End of the day I’m fully aware what is said here is meaningless to everyone involved so why make it personal?

The bottom line is that your anecdotal experience is not a substitute for actual medical research. You're getting a bit hysterical here.
