POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

Republicans vote to suspend committee rules and advance Mnuchin and Price.

It's been kind of fascinating to witness the destruction of democracy.
The Democrats on the committee weren't even bothering to show up for two of the least controversial nominees Trump has put up, and were holding a presser in the hallway instead of doing their stupid jobs. I'd expect Democrats to do the exact same if Republicans were being that petulant, and besides all of that, any criticism of the loss of norms in committees and minority party rights and all that rings EXTREMELY hollow coming from the party that nuked the freakin' filibuster.

Thank you for posting this. I rest my case.

An Orc is now in charge of the Dept. of Justice. Congrats.

Wrong. They WERE doing their jobs. The GOP was refusing to ask questions after the other Trump nominees shat the bed so badly. It was a procedural move that was allowed under the rules. You cream your jeans when the GOP does those (cough Garland cough).

Also, after how the GOP has behaved since 2008, you have forever lost the right to use the word petulant unironically. Your side is wrong on the merits, which is fine, it's a birth defect, but they've also acted like entitled children on everything from nominees to shuttering the government. It's not that you've lost the high ground, it's that you've lost all sight of it. Your party is a joke.

Which one is "my party," again? I'm neither a Democrat or a Republican.

Of course you aren't. Just like no one was going to vote for Mr. Trump. Didn't see you on here once decrying what the Republicans were doing since 2008. Yet now that the Orange Baboon is running things you're defending the Republicans.

Betsy DeVos made it through. Proving that they do not care about competence or credentials. They only care about PARTY. Which is what I've said all along.

LOL. We've read your other 202 posts, son. They all just accidentally line up behind one party.

But it is a sign of the moral decrepitude of the right that even as they march in lockstep along the party line, they refuse to admit what they are.

I'm a conservative-leaning libertarian. I would've voted for Austin Petersen if he was the Libertarian nominee, but alas, all three parties nominated absolute crapheaps, so McMullin it was.

But yeah, I'm a total Trumphumper, or something to that effect.

This is an exercise in futility, and I don't need the daily blood pressure spike. Back to lurking it is for me. Enjoy your circlejerk, fellas.

two Republicans have said they will vote against confirmation of DeVos: Collins and Murkowski. Need one more.

The fact that they have announced probably means there will be no more. This is cover for back home.
