Re: POTUS 45.16 - If Never Forgotten, One Would ALWAYS Remember Something.

The Antifa in this case are just as bad as the people they are protesting. Different causes, same result. It's disgusting. Two wrongs don't make a right.

People know what the answer is if neo-Nazis are left without any real counter punch. It happened a few times in the world.

The Antifa movement is to just fight the neo-nazi morons from getting any farther than just saying stuff.

Antifa wants to get the idea that racism is ok out of the system in anyway they can, so if that means fighting a group of people who WANT to bring a fight, so be it.

Nazis want get rid of any race that is not white.

It may not be right, but it is needed. And it's people like you who want to just hide that we have violent racists in our country that makes it so needed. People didn't speak up in Italy, or Spain, or Germany- because "two wrongs don't make a right". It took years to really subdue the KKK doing the same thing.

If you want to deny the fact that these deplorables were actually looking for a fight- good luck with that. They got one. Tough. Now we are seeing the peaceful counter protests all over the country, which is good. If we can only get people to wake up and see what the politicians are really doing (or not), we can sweep this crap out of our country.

Re: POTUS 45.16 - If Never Forgotten, One Would ALWAYS Remember Something.

NPR this morning interviewed a guy in rural NY. According to him, Trump should be getting praise for calling for unity because Obama never did that (false), these white supremacists aren't as bad because they want equality for everyone(I don't even ****ing know how one can say that), and Trump hasn't gotten a fair shake in the media (maybe if he didn't do something stupid on the daily).

The power of the conservative media bubble knows no bounds.

False eqyivalency is going to destroy this country. Sad that I'm going to be alive and living here to see it.

The whole two wrongs don't make a right argument makes me sick. All the people who hid and rescued Jews in WWII were technically breaking the law too.

My coworkers all think this way as well. I have been literally dreading going to work this morning. I know Fox will be on in the lobby, spraying them with this. I know they will make what they think are clever comments (they aren't). And they will all feel completely self-righteous as they justify and rationalize the descent of their politics into Naziism.

This is one time where we should not be calling for unity at all. Nazis do can not be unified with anyone as long as they want separation.

Not a nazi- you can join the party. Otherwise, GTFO.

I've been stunned a few times what some of the right say Obama did. Which he didn't. Or what he didn't do- when he did. Talk about fake news.

I'd happily punch a Nazi in the face.

All day, every day.

If anyone brings it up to me here at work, I plan on being right in their face.

Nazis do not get to be part of society. Mostly because their version of society isn't one.

Re: POTUS 45.16 - If Never Forgotten, One Would ALWAYS Remember Something.

One more thing about the whole united thing...

Nazis are not Americans. They may be, technically, citizens of the United States of America, but they are not Americans.

Not by any stretch of the imagination.

They violated the opening lines of our Declaration of Independence. And while that line wasn't all true at the time of signing, we've been struggling to make it true ever since then, as REAL Americans.

These guys are deplorable, and do not deserve to be part of any union until they see that they are such horrible people and change.

The age-old problem: it's work. So what do you do?

Mike Pence would like everyone to know that we shouldn't be concerned about the President's "All Sides" comment. By the way, has there ever been a more USCHO Centrist comment from our President than "All Sides"? It really fit the theme, didn't it?

Many sides.

Re: POTUS 45.16 - If Never Forgotten, One Would ALWAYS Remember Something.

This is a thread about POTUS, and I think the important thing in all this is that hate groups, at least the ones at this event, have felt legitimized and inspired by our President. This guy's mother thought her son was going to a Trump rally. David Duke was there and has openly stated that he supported Trump and what he stood for.

Our President brags about sexually assaulting women, calls a whole ethnic/nationality group murderers and rapists, talks openly about excluding muslims from our country, and runs his campaign around a promise to return us all to a time when, if you are not white and male, you are nothing more than grunt labor. Of course the white supremacists love him and expect him to protect their dream. An of course people will use bullying tactics to further their views. The example is being set at the highest level.

There are around 330 million people in the country, don't you think there are a decent amount with some kind of whacky views? Let's not completely lose perspective on this. It's horrible what happened and we need to find some kind of solution to it, but doesn't mean all 100 million republicans/conservatives are awful people.

To you earlier comment, deplorable to me probably means something different than what it meant to you or anyone else. I took it more as an attack on rural folk(which I'm from a rural area) than solely white supremacists.

That's the problem. There is no solution. There are too many people who would give these people power. We elected a Misogynist Racist and put him in the White House in 2016. This occurred after the experiences of World War II, the 60's, Antia Hill, and on and on and on.

To think we are arrogant enough to expect solutions and go to war for the same issues in another country while we can't even clean up our own mess. Arrogance doesn't even begin to describe it.

No it doesn't. But by voting for Trump (or not voting at all but continuing to make excuses for him) those people show that these "whacky views", aka racism, was not a deal breaker for them. And now you can see the results. Trump voters/supporters/excuse makers have enabled these hate groups.

But what is it about conservatives overall that is negative, even hostile towards other Americans - putting even our worst of enemies (Russia) in front of them. Listen to Fox, Hannity, Rush, Coulter, etc. Are they hate? Maybe, maybe not. But isn't pretty much their only agenda to be strictly negative and even harsh towards anyone on the left?

Nazi's are not conservatives, but apparently there's a fair amount of shared cloth there.

Stolen from Facebook last night:

"Why were tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons used on Native Americans at Standing Rock but not on Nazis in Charlottesville?"

Now, of course this is simplistic...but it is a good question. There is plenty of video of what was done to the protesters...it was so ridiculous Veterans had to bus in and protect them. Meanwhile a bunch of Fascist wannabes with guns and torches march into town spewing hate and no one does anything. No matter what it looks horrid.

Meanwhile our President cant denounce these people because he used them to get elected (plus he probably cant spell Nazi) and has made them feel they have a legit voice since the Primaries. 30 years ago both sides would be denouncing this crap...now we have a National News Organization (Faux) victim blaming and defending. Good lord...

Include among those the people who continue to give him soft support through false equivalencies and misdirection, even when they claim not to have voted for him.
